Welcome! :) On this blog you will find stories, how i play and videos created with The Sims 4, but also a few projects from older game versions can be found in the Archive. The old TS3 stories have their own blogs. Most long going stories have a main page with index of updates.

Check out Simmerville's Youtube channel!

I'm no longer on Tumblr! I refused to give all their 3rd parties unlimited access to my computer. Link still works, but no updates.

The Five Units Challenge - Report 32 - Skills and Duties

Hey - guess what! Because of Seasons coming soon, I decided to complete this challenge before the new features are added! I wouldn't mind seeing some rain or snow in the Clump family's everyday, but you know, with calendar and other new stuff there might be adjustments to how things work, and I don't feel like reinventing anything regarding this challenge.

So, 4 more reports are planned, meaning each update will cover about 7-9 simdays/years.

The challenge founder, Sylvia Clump, recently died from old age, and current challenge keeper, Donna Clump, is facing lots of trouble. She is only half way maxing ut her three required skills; cooking (from mom Sylvia), painting (from dad Abraham) and singing (Donna's personal skill). Donna's daughter Olivia will soon grow up and Donna must be all set by then!

- Oh my, why by Similius was I boern into this silly challenge?

She looked at her late mother's vegetable garden, wondering what would now happen to those beloved plants. But then her hubby Gerald and her brothers Rudolph and Sammy, both residing in San Myshuno, showed up.

- She left us way too early!, Rudolph said and hugged her.

Donna had invited them to mourn their mom's urn and to let go of their mom's spirit. Sylvia's old frioend, the photographer Dorothy Flemming was there, too.

- Oh Sylvia!, Dorothy cried with her manly voice.
- Bu-hu, mom!

Then they let go of Sylvia's spirit. According to tradition this shall be done the day after a sim diseases, it gives the families a little time to mourn before they separates totally. Sylvia never wandered the house as a ghost, but their dad Abraham did, long ago.

Then Sammy had sad news for Donna.

- I've not been in touch with our sister, but I was told that social workers took away Fiona's son, Alexander!
- Oh no, said Donna. - That's horrible! What about Nadia, did they take her, too?
- Nadia is fine, she is already a teenager and can take care of herself. Alexander is just a little boy, so they took him away to find him a better home!

How unfair was that? If Donna had known, she could have offered to help Fiona by letting her son move in here at the Clump residence!

Gerald was still working his politician career. It was tough, and he found little support. He claimed simoleons for everyone, but nobody cared to join him.

He even tried to paint a political street fresco, but it all turned out so bad that he returned back home before it was completed. Gerald had dreamed about becoming Newcrest's representative for the regional council. He was already an elder, was it too late to fight his way through?

August and Olivia spent their days like most teenagers did. A little homework and projects every now and then, but majority of their time went to gaming, tv and social media.

Donna was very concerned with Olivia, who was supposed to bring on this challenge, but who won't be informed until she reaches the young adult stage.

- You really need to build your skills, Olivia!
- Oh, why would I do that?
- Because it's a family thing, it's expected from you, dear!
- But mom, I don't feel like it. What skille, by the way?

- Cooking, painting and singing!
- What? I'll never di those things! Not in my entire life!

Well, the same evening Olivia did try out the easel.

A pretty sad result, for sure...

A few weeks later Donna checked on the progress.
- How is your skills building, Olivia?
- I'm doing my best, mom!
- Would you like to cook dinner today?

But Olivia claimed she had no time for cooking. She explained she had joined a painting class and had to join her class!

Donna picked her unit in the garden. Now that she chose singing to be her personal skill, she could start planning her unit. A microphone? Seats for a small audience? Some decor?

Although she could practice singing in her unit, she could hardly find time.

All the cleaning and cooking, and this far she had not even watered her late mother's plants. Olivia was away most evenings joining her painting class. August, who will grow up shortly, was more busy with gaming than anything else.

- August, would you please help a little around here?
- Nah... doing dishes?
- No, we got the machine for that. We need someone to take care of granny's vegetables.
- Nah... next week,. perhaps...

But next week something extraordinary took place, taking everyone's focus away from the dieing garden plants.

Gerald walked outside, and suddenly he was captured by a bright light!

- Oh my, something feels not so normal...

Then he was sucked up into the air, where a spaceship was waiting! They took him away before anyone in the house could even count to three!

And Olivia's painting class? Well, she was a mischief person, and she didn't mind telling a lie, not even to her own mom.

There was no painting class. Olivia walked up to Newcrest Shopping Mall. There she bought a doughnut and enjoyed the silence.

More in just a couple days! Only three more reports to go!
