The Landgraab Dynasty

(Year 234, Winter) This morning a press brief hit news desks nation wide. The Landgraab business imperium is reorganizing. The top company, Landgraab Industries, Inc., is among Mazaloom's biggest companies, but there are numerous smaller companies owned fully or partly by companies within the Landgraab concern, or by members of the super wealthy Landgraab family.

Mr Malcolm Landgraab Mester Cacti posing at Landgraab Industries, Inc.'s head quarters.

Today Mr. Malcolm Landgraab (81) is Head of the family, including House of Landgraab and the low nobility title Mester Cacti. To many's surprise, the Landgraabs never held any real peerage, and the Mester status doesn't really qualify as real nobility. They were never involved with Politics, at least not as electable candidates. There's no doubt they had significant influence on our community, though.

While Mr Landgraab has run this dynasty well since he took over, most companies and owner loots were initiated by his late mother, Nancy Landgraab, or even by her father again, ChesterLandgraab, a Scientist back in Sunset Valley. Former members of the family sure collected land, which helped them all building the huge values they possess today: Mr Landgraab alone is good for more than §7,000,000.

Mr Landgraab (81) is CEO at Landgraab Industries, Inc.

Malcolm was sole heir to all of Nancy Landgraab's possessions. When he needs to step back for good, the situation will be quite different as he has 3 sons, who all will claim their fair share of the dynasty. Heritage laws make sure that one of them can be the main heir, claiming more than their equal share, but there are limits to how much a main heir can get, too; Basically up to 50%, and then - if main heir is among the life heirs - the addition of his share when the remaining possessions are shared equally between life heirs. This will roughly mean that Malcolm's main heir can not inherit more than 67% total, which is still an enormous amount transferred to Simoleons. Of course, his much younger wife, Mrs Aili (von Kaching) Landgraab (49) will be entitled half of the totals (less if there exist separate properties). All in all, the owner structure will change drastically. All those possessions will no longer be on one hand, but four!

Landgraab Industries, Inc. is located at Dusty Turf in Oasis Springs.

But firstly, Mr Malcolm Landgraab Mester Cacti shall decide on a main heir - his oldest sons are twins, so he can technically pick either of them, but not both. Then he shall not only share his worth, but also decide who gets what shares. And if that was not enough, he must also consider who will do the better job as the future CEO for those companies where he already holds the CEO position. Because the sons are too young combined with his wife beeing seen as 50/50 owner to most of the possessions - will she take a huge step forward? Will she handle all possessions until the twins reach age 25?

- It is nothing new that a company's board contains the top 3 owners, and the top owner will normally be the company CEO, Mr Landgraab explains. - There might be a few exceptions, like I am the top owner of too many companies to be the CEO of them all. Therefore, I passed the job on to the 2nd board member for some of those companies. With a new top owner, any such arrangements will be reconsidered, though, as it is up to the top owner, not me, the ex-top owner. Right now I'm looking into securing one CEO position for each of my sons, naturally in each their company.

Landgrab Industries, Inc. alone is currently worth close to §16 mill, and Mr Landgraab is their CEO and biggest owner with his 31% share. This company owns a number of companies, like Landgraab Estates, Inc. (100%), Sience Lab, Inc. (100%), Landgraab Retail, Inc. (100%), plus smaller shares in several minor companies like Shiny Things, Inc., Acme Tables, Inc, and Sulani Mining Company, Inc.. In addition the dynasty controls Landgraab Power Company, Inc.

Will the new Dynasty status have any impact on this?

- No, not at all. House of Landgraab is quite old, and dynasty is just a glorified version of the House term. Our dynasty is rather small when it comes to member count, but probably the biggest when it comes to values. My advisor mentioned that only the royal Luxe-Hamper dynasy is worth more than us. I don't know if that is correct, but I hear everyone telling me that the Landgraab Dynasty is the wealthiest, practically the greatest ever. It might be an interesting fact, but I would never dream of boasting about my money.

The Landgraab residence at Verde in Oasis Springs has their dynasty emblem on the wall.

The Landgraab dynasty counts 5 members; Mr Landgraab (81), his wife Mrs Aili vK. Landgraab (49), and their three sons, twins Buffrey and Geophold (15) and the youngest, Ruperty (10). Even if the twins inherit majority of the shares, they are way too young to become CEO. They would need to wait minimum 10 years. Mr Landgraab senior is still active, but will he live until the twins reach Young Adult? This might be an additional puzzle for the rich patriarch. This is exactly why rich people should establish a family early. Malcolm obviously waited too long.

Ruperty Landgraab (10), Mr Malcolm Landgraab Mester Cacti (81).

Right now Mr Landgraab focuses on simplifying the structure of companies. He can't tell whether he will sell out one or more stocks, because it would be stock market sensitive information. It could also be the other way, splitting up companies in order to make it easier to share values between his wife and sons. One strategy might be to sell off companies located abroad, which might make leadership easier.

- Whatever I decide to do, the companies are more important than my heirs. I will not force through changes that could harm the business. And we got the stock owner laws saying that a stock company must have minimum 3 owners where no owner holds more than 60%. This is not the case for all companies where I'm involved, so I would need to split up my ownership regardless of a next generation taking over. Landgraab Industries owns 100% of several companies, meaning minimum 40% must be sold out, or somehow transferred to me personally for further distributation.

Two other major companies are Landgraab Science Lab, Inc. and Landgraab Power, Inc., to mention just a few. All Landgrab companies will also get a new graphical logo, shortly. There are also numerous lots involved, spread all over Mazaloom.
