The Five Units Challenge - Report 31 - Goodbye Sylvia

Donna was still upset about meeting her sister few nights ago. Fiona never showed up to the Sunday family dinner. She looked tired and not very healthy, and she obviously had no desire to let others in on her, not even her closest family. Donna was convinced, something was wrong!

Thankfully, there were positive matters to keep her mind busy. Like her son, August, wanting to practice music!

Donna invited August to sing karaoke with her at San Myshuno's Spice Market.

He was very unsure about the whole thing, but Donna encouraged him by showing off her own singing abilities.

- Yeah, yeah... duuuuu.... love!

They kept singing duets for half an hour. It sounded too bad to attract any audience. Still, Donna felt happy about it, and right there and then she decided that yes - singing had to be her chosen skill for the five units challenge!

Donna also had another plan for the day. She sent August back home to Rivercrest, and headed for the Arts Quarter to meet her brothers Sammy and Rudolph.

They met at the gallery bar. The main reason they met were Fiona. It turned out that Rudolph knew a little more than Donna and Sammy were aware of.

- She picked the wrong hubby, Rudolph explained. This guy, Ayaan Meshram was not good for Fiona. Rudolph had witnessed them hanging out with Ayaan's friends, they all seemed on drugs in some way.
- Oh my, mom would not handle this if she knew!, Sammy gasped. - We better not tell her!

- How about Fiona never answering her phone?, Donna asked. - Did you ever manage to reach her?
- Oh, I think Ayaan confiscated her phone long ago.
- I can't believe our sister would ever accept that, she used to be a social media person!
Rudolph shook his head. - She might be addicted to other things these day.
- Poor Fiona, we gotta find a way helping her! There's Nadia, too, their daughter.
- There's not only Nadia, Rudolph said. - They had a son, too, I'm not sure about his name.

The next day old Sylvia stopped Donna in the kitchen.

- Donna, it's time to catch up with this five unites challenge!
- Already, what's up?

- Nothing, except Olivia being a teenager and you should prepare her! On her next birthday you need to be done with your part of the challenge. I don't think you focused a lot on your skills lately.

- You will need to be great at cooking, painting - and one thing more that you should decide.
- Ah, I did make my mind up, mom. It'll be the skill of singing!
- What? Singing? Are you serious?

Sylvia could not believe that Donna had chosen singing as her personal skill. In this challenge all descendants would need to max out that skill as well, and Sylvia could hardly see Donna's daughter Olivia take up singing!

- And how about your sister Fiona? Any news about her?
- Yes mom, Donna lied. - She is fine, and Rudolph told me that she has two kids!
- Really? I'd love to see them, why isn't she bringing them over?

Next day Sylvia was out working her garden plots. Then a large group of teens marched towards the Clump house.

All of them looked familiar, but could it be...?

- Hello granny! We decided to pay you a visit!

The girl talking were Carolina, daughter of Rudolph. She was joined by Sabrina (Sammy's daughter) and Carolina's sister Sybil. The two teens back right were Olivia and August (of this house).

- Granny, I'll be honest, daddy sent us to see you. He thought it could be timely as you are getting older and older every year!

Olivia wasn't quite comfortable with her cousins visiting. She had met them earlier, but did not know them very well. They were a bit different being city girls. Olivia probably planned some mischief action.

They all gathered for a meal inside, and Sylvia enjoyed every minute of it. Donna chose to stand back a bit, leaving the talk to the teenagers.

Olivia told Sybil some shocking fake stuff...
- And you know here at Rivercrest we often put mild toxic mushrooms in a meal like this. tasty, don't you think?

- Ha ha, your face! It was a joke, ha ha!

- Glad to see you again, Carolina! Bzzzzzz! Ha ha!

Donna witnessed Olivia's prank. Okay, they were still sort of children, they were allowed to play. But wasn't it a bit too much? The others did not seem mischief at all, so why did Donna find so much fun in this?

A short week later, Sylvia walked down to the kitchen to drink some water. She felt all dizzy.

Then she fell down as a dead fly.

Sylvia was one of the challenge starters, she was widowed since long. Now she is no more.

More in a few days!
