Welcome! :) On this blog you will find stories, how i play and videos created with The Sims 4, but also a few projects from older game versions can be found in the Archive. The old TS3 stories have their own blogs. Most long going stories have a main page with index of updates.

Check out Simmerville's Youtube channel!

I'm no longer on Tumblr! I refused to give all their 3rd parties unlimited access to my computer. Link still works, but no updates.

Hit the blog's tag movies for posts about recent productions.

I've produced videos on The Sims 4 since Summer 2018. There are already many series with various focuses. Most are Machinima, which means making a film with sims as actors and the game as a setting, but without seeing any User Interface. Pretending it's not a game but a real film recording, it's fun to create, some times my sims are actually drilled in a studio building (outfits/make up/etc) before the scene is recorded. I love story telling films are a great medium for unwinding :)

I don't use voice overs, instead all talking is in Simlish with English subtitles. I think this works fine, but you might need a few minutes to get used to it. Neither do I use poses or mods for the actors (at least they are extremely rare), it's all real (and random) animations that takes place in my game. So when you see a scene it might be the result of 30 takes.

My biggest production is the "As Sims Go By" series. This is a soap focusing on the 5 councilors of my Region 12, with drama, rivalry and romance. It's actually my game as I play it, disguised as a soap :) So far there are 5 episodes and subjects have been elections, farming, shopping malls, show biz and retirement homes.

My "One Year in ..." contains 8 episodes, each showing the changing seasons in the worlds Brindleton Bay, Newcrest, Granite Falls, Gloomville (aka Willow Creek), Oasis Springs, San Myshuno, Windenburg and Sylvan Glades (bonus).

A rather popular series is the "How I Play". Each episode is short, focusing on a specific game related subject, presented through a mix of gaming thoughts and sims guesting a TV-show. The subjects are normally a following up of themes from "As Sims Go By".

Finally, «The Free Will Show» is quite popular, and the first season will be completed this June (ep6). This series will continue over Summer with only 4 contenders and one dog in the house. In this show the contenders collect points based on their everyday free will actions, but without "knowing" what is smarter to do. The videos are highly edited with score boards, interviews and a cheering audience, it's probably a tad more entertaining than you expect it to be. As long as you watch the start and the ending, you can jump a lot during the main parts. If you love spying on sims; Watch it all!

In the works:

«As Sims Go By» - my community focused soap series, will complete its first season with episode 6 coming this June. I was planning a 2nd season to start over Summer, but being realistic, this series takes way too much time to produce compared to the very few viewers. It doesn't help that all viewers leave a "like", if they are only 5. It's way to hard to reach viewers, I don't know if the episodes are too long, if it's too poorly made, or what the reason is. Anyway, I really need to reconsider a 2nd season.

«How I Play» will go on without any seasons, but there is no set schedule. Expecting to make at least 2 more episodes before Summer, including more tips for taking unique photos of your sims.

«The Free Will Show» will go on with a 2nd season after Summer. Viewers will still be able to affect the show, so I can only make 1 episode at the time. I expect 2nd season to contain 8 episodes!

Because most series will have a Summer break between seasons, I will use this break to catch up with two older series:

«San Myshuno Undercovered» lacks only 2 (?) episodes to be completed. «Life Unlimited» lacks 2 or 3 episodes to complete its first season. Both these series have short episodes, so I hope to release it all August-September'ish.

Older stuff:

You will find most videos/films I produced on Simmerville's Youtube channel.

For The Sims 2 there might be some extra content on Simmerville Studio's site.

For The Sims 3 there are no films, but many picture based stories. None of them are active, so you find info and links on the Archive section.
