So, in these more or less monthly As Days Go By updates, you get a chance to learn the small stories and destinies taking place outside the film series. Every here and there you might also find some ideas for your own game, but I'll not be very detailed in these posts. They are mostly meant as easy reads for inspiration. If you have any questions, feel free to comment, and I'll explain more thoroughly.
Starting in Gloomville's poor hood, Muggerdale. The richest household is Mugger Farm, being run by the same family for a few generations. They still grow produce, and this farm has 3 Farm Rights (see the As Sims Go By film series episode 2, or How I Play episode 3 for details on Farm Rights).
The household is a bit odd. Alan and Janet are siblings, and although Alan is young adult and ready to establish his own family, he won't take over the farm. Their parents died when they both were teens, and even if not building his life here, Alan ran the family farm while his sister was a student.
Nowadays Janet grew up, and is officially about to take over Mugger Farm. She is not very inspired, though, and she doesn't like the idea of living here all alone...
Because - and this gets a bit complicated - Alan Mugger is in a romantic relation with Miranda Mox. I think they are engaged, even. Miranda is daughter of the house where my blog series Gloomville Diaries took place. Her sister Edith Mox got the diaries challenge, and Gloomville Diaries rules says Miranda needs to settle outside Gloomville, being a backup plan for that old challenge. Miranda always loved gardening, and wanted to run Mugger Farm, until she realized she can not. Back then, the only option was Oasis Springs, but nowadays there are luckily better districts where farming would be more successful than in the dessert...
Alan and Miranda have not yet decided where to start their new farm. Newcrest or Brindleton Bay?
On picture above, the very old sister of Alan and Janet's late mom is wisiting with her younger husband. They reside in Oasis Springs with their teen son.
In Willow Field we find Gloomville's largest and oldest farm, run by Agaton Oaksdale's family. This farm holds 4 Farm Rights, about to apply for the 5th, meaning it is seen as one of a few main farms of the the district.
Agaton is basically a down to earth and masculine man, but he still wears earrings when he put on his beehive suit. I found no way to remove those earrings, and I do hate the game's randomness when it ruins the characters you are building. No way a guy like Agaton would put on earrings - ever!
Agaton and Sonia have one child only, daughter Tammy (28). She is in her final year as a teenager, and has no choice but taking over the farm. But perhaps she can have a few years in the city first? She wants a big happy family, but she also would like to learn about art, and is considering working as an Arts Critic while her parents run Oaksdale Farm.
Agaton likes to be well prepared, crops are closely maintained, and bills are paid promptly. Finances are decent, and they make their living from farming without the big struggles. So, one day when the power was shut off due to some forgotten bills, he had to sit down dealing with the disappointment - how could they forget to pay those bills?
Across the street is the Hicks household.
Ella's child was born! Ella Hicks (62) is the only left in this house from 3 siblings. Her brothers Hector and Adrian settled in Muggerdale and Brindleton Bay years ago.
The criminal Ella realized she could make money from having a baby with a wealthy married man, so she dated lots of those men, and finally became pregnant with an older gentleman from Oasis Springs. She fooled him, as soon as she was pregnant she cut off the contact. All she will need to cash in is a DNA test, it doesn't even make a difference if the old Scientist Oscar Jupiter (88) dies. She will find a way to grab his money in their daughter Emily's name.
Yeah, fighting in the Hicks house! It's not a rare situation, but this time Sculla Schwaini stoppeed by to discuss shady business, and Ella could not disagree more!
I think their fight was related to the subject Aliens. Since Sculla moved to San Myshuno she has been highly interested in the subject, and somehow she succeeded in attracting one of them to the Old Salt House Shopping Mall. Is it their super powers she is after? Is she wanting a child with Alien powers in order to benefit from those gifts in criminal businesses? Sculla was always a weird girl...
Let's jump over to Oasis Springs. I hardly told you much about the Caliente household. You know about Nina Caliente and Don Lothario, and then there is also Nina's mom Katrina. Katrina is elderly, she had a relation with Don Lothario in the past, which resulted in a son, Paulo. Then Nina had a relation to the same Don Lothario, resulting in their daughter, Adriana. Don moved in, and who knows who have a relation these days.
Nina (57) is still very attractive. She inherited her mom's house and makes a living from growing flowers in the backyard. The lot actually holds 3 farm rights, but she insisted on growing scented flowers instead of herbs. Because they should have delivered herbs all year round, they face quite heavy fees.
Nina and Don's daughter Adriana (15) is very skinny, but very determined. She just grew up to a teenager, and seems to be into active sports.
Adriana is very strong despite her slim body, so maybe she can aim for an Athlete career?
Lots of birthdays lately!
Don Lothario (71) is officially an elder! He hates it with passion, will he still be able to impress young women all over the region? Will he still have it?
Perhaps Nina and Don's son Paulo (24) will take over as the new romantic young man? His ambition is to become Leader of the pack, and yes - he got his dad's romantic trait.
We're jumping again, this time to Newcrest where the Jupiter family resides in hood Rivercrest.
Caspar (47) and Agathe (53) have 3 kids, Zaviar (15), Oleck (12) and Bianca (6).
Caspar is a Scientist, actually he serves as Region 12's Meteorologist. Aside predicting the weather,. he builds a rocket at home. Will it be completed next year?
Agatha is currently thinking a lot about what life has to offer. Did she make the right choices? She likes it in Newcrest, and she loves her family, it's just that she keep feeling there might be something more to life. The vegetable garden is no longer inspiring, luckily Caspar is doing most of the tending, as he finds it interesting for science reasons.
Preparing their meals is what Agatha finds least rewarding. She works in the Entertainment industry, as a Comedian, but she is aware of her very limited talent. She organized a club called Ha-Ha Comedians, which she still leads, but perhaps it would feel better if she handed the leadership over to someone else? Should she contact Simmerville Studio - they have been searching for someone to host a new TV show concept.
On top of it all she forget the danger of daydreaming while cooking. The kitchen fires are numerous.
Onwards again - at Spice Market in San Myshuno resides the Rasoyas. And there's news!
Geeta Rasoya's (77) attempts to get her only son, Raj (36), married, did not turn out the way she hoped for. She even thought of getting a distant relative over from Simstania, where they origin from. But then a single woman living in a flat next door, Sybil Harrell (63), caught Raj's love interest. She is nice, but too old for Raj. Still, if it is the only chance Geeta will ever experience her son having a family, it would be silly protesting. It's a minor problem that this woman is from lower middle class, that way the Rasoya influence will be superior.
Raj and Sybil are truly in love, and they both see the situation as benefiting. Raj was sick and tired of his old mom pushing him, and Sybil see it as a good way to advance from her tiny rental flat, to this much bigger Rasoya apartment. Raj focus most on his Chef career, while Sybil has only taken on small temporary jobs because she doesn't really want to work at all. She is both smart and geeky, though, and she would love to read more than she actually does.
Picture from their wedding day! Sibyl didn't mind being dressed up by Geeta. Raj looks a bit weird, like he normally does... And now Sibyl is pregnant.
Back in Muggerdale of Gloomville, another family started farming activities.
Lona Despond (65) lived in this house most of her adult life. Hector Hicks (63) joined her long ago, and Lona's friend Sarah Stone (64) also lived here, but has now moved to San Myshuno to establish her own family.
Lona never heard about Farm Rights, but seeing that the Mugger Farm makes money from growing the ground, inspired her to get some plants going, she even talked Hector into finding some bee hive for them. Hector is a Criminal, he's got the network.
These days Hector has spent more time at home, because their 3 kids take more time. Evangeline (16) is reaching teen years, while twins Birdie and Sally (4) need their parents a lot. The house is very tiny, they might need to move when the twins start school. And now Lona is pregnant again!
Another birthday in San Myshuno, Fashion District. The Adrian household moved here from Oasis Springs, few years ago.
Otto Adrian (61) was one of the eight contenders in my blog show "Sims by Numbers" (2014). He married Dina Calente (56), and they had 4 kids, including a set of triplets! Son Flamenco (15) just became a teen, while the girls Tamara, Khloe and Clara are 10.
Flamenco is active and romantic, but hasn't really started to explore city life yet. He still misses his fiends back in Oasis Springs.
A quick stop to Brindleton Bay where the Sutton family has resided at the Wharf for a couple generations.
Zack (89) and Alma Sutton (86) are still around. Alma is active with the local cat club, and of course she loves spending time with her granddaughter Audrey (3). She is the child of the old couple's son, Robert, and his wife Carolina (57, sister of Sybil Rasoya). Zack and Alma also have a daughter in Newcrest, Agathe Jupiter, the not so successful comedian married to a meteorologist, who they rarely see.
The Suttons always cared for cats, that's no surprise as they descend from the old families of the Wharf.
And now, Gloomville again.
In the finer hood, Upperton, lives still widowed Constanza Bootwig with her dog and son Hugo. Hugo is still single, and his mother's attempts to connect him with the von Kaching family across the street lead nowhere. He started a Science career, aiming to become the region's 2nd Meteorologist.
Lots of jumping today - back in Brindleton Bay lives Fanny Silverbone, who is one of the lead characters in my As Sims Go By series.
Fanny is single, but there is a growing interest at work...
She moved to Brindleton Bay couple years ago, the big backyard was påerfect for her main goal - to breed dogs.
And she adores her Dalmatians Jenny and Polo. Selling off puppies makes around §300, and because it can't be done very often, it's not enough to replace a job. So Fanny got herself involved with Politics, and this period she is Brindleton Bay's representative to the Region 12 Council. This means she needs to go to the Council House at Magnolia Promenade 2 days weekly.
Next door is the Domus Farm.
Her neighbor George Domus is a dedicated farmer, but he is running out of space. His farm holds only 3 Farm Rights, and he dreams of expanding with more rights. But to do so, he would need more ground.
He often talk with Fanny, and he has suggested that hey swap lots. Fanny did refuse that suggestion though, mainly because she needs the backyard for her dogs.
Heading to San Myshuno next.
Miko Ojo and her friends from the joint Fashion District apartment like to hang out at Planet Honey Pop!. Siobhan Fyres is the latest addition to the group of 4 young sims. You meet both Miko and Siobhan in the As Sims Go By series.
Siobhan is actually an ambitious person, she wants to find a good job here in the city. She is not into karaoke at all, like the rest of the group.
She has accepted that Miko can dye her hair. Will she regret it?
Over at Spice Market we find Sarah Stone, friend og Lona Despond at Muggerdale, Gloomville.
Sarah (64) fell in love with Athlete Alexander Meshram (52), and now they have the twins John and Fiona (3). Alexander works as a just started pro Athlete, while the uneducated Sarah adds to the household's income by collecting and selling odd stuff. She search for posters and globes around town, and every Saturday she sells them.
In Newcrest's Rivercrest is the Clump family. This is the family from my blog story "Five Unites Challenge".
This year Olivia Clump (62) was widowed, but she can't find her dead Kayson's grave. Did he die on a community lot? Sons Garvin (29) and Fred (26) do focus a lot on skill building. Although the challenge is done, the tradition of maxing 5 skills is too well established to be ignored.
I think this is Fred Clump, out and about to burn leaves on the annual Leaf Pile Burning Day. This tradition is old in the region, on the last day of Fall families will go out there in their own hood to burn at least one pile. It might take several goes, and some times one pile is all they can handle, especially if they have kids joining them.
This activity is also popular among teens, as it allows them to stay out beyond curfew.
Well, this was probably a bit more than enough. A few glimpses into my region. Year 216 is currently passing by and the 2nd As Sims Go By episode will be out on December 12th
