Welcome! :) On this blog you will find stories, how i play and videos created with The Sims 4, but also a few projects from older game versions can be found in the Archive. The old TS3 stories have their own blogs. Most long going stories have a main page with index of updates.

I'm no longer on Tumblr! I refused to give all their 3rd parties unlimited access to my computer. Link still works, but no updates.

Graveyards

(Year 233, Summer) Church of Similius, being the stately religion of Mazaloom kingdom, has refined the routine for funeral services. This has now been approved by Ministry of Health & Welfare - and Ministry of Culture & Entertainment, where the church actually sorts.

High Priest Ansgar Profedius (69) informs that the adjustments were overdue, but that the changes are not massive. The one time fee for a grave larger than the standard 2 ground tiles will be of interest to some families. Also, the memorial ceremony service is now better explained on the church's webpage.

The small district graveyard in Oasis Springs is home to the old Donnersmalt Crypt.

The kingdom's five parishes were not affected by the Regional Reform Y233, but some districts now belong to a different parish anyway. This affects Oasis Springs, switching to Advorton parish from Meadows parish, meaning they will still relate to the same old district graveyard in Oasis Springs, but now be administrated by a different parish Priest. San Myshuno broke out from the old Region Mazaloom to form its own region, but still belongs to the Meadows parish.

Each parish has a parish cemetery, while many districts have a smaller local graveyard but served by the parish church. This structure is unchanged, but Church of Similius is now hiring one Undertaker per parish to both maintain the graves and to keep an eye on the organization. There were some Undertakers in the past, but not organized per parish. Today the position is covered in Crafthole and Tredony, but we could need Undertakers in the parishes of Meadows, Windenburg and Advorton.

Regular graves are still free. Every residents - rich and poor - can have a 2 tiles grave at no cost. It's only if you choose a large (4x4) grave that there will be a fee (§14,000). Those graves are quite restricted as we simply can't spend that much ground on many graves, and they are intended for individuals who made a difference and will be mourned by many. These large graves can mostly be found at parish  cemeteries, and except from a few historical graves they are less common at district graveyards.

We also have the old crypts that were gifted 12 high nobility Houses more than hundred years ago. These crypts are still administrated by Head of their House, but might be available to family branches that are not actually seen as members of the House. Church of Similius will not interfere with this. Only in Ravenwood there exist several crypts outside the cemetery. They are not served by Church of Similius, but the parish Undertaker shall be contacted whenever an urn is stored or removed.

We have some family graves, too, which is a set number of ground tiles reserved by a family for their future needs. Such areas are normally fenced in, but shall be accessible to anyone. They still serves some families, and are not restricted to aristocracy. The initial fee is based on ground tiles, and is charged on the day of the reservation. The family is then free to decide grave sizes within their area. Such areas are no longer sold, but there might be a chance in the future for larger families.

Finally, there exist a few private graveyards and cellar crypts, mostly serving estates of  royals and dukes. These are seen as private, and are more of cultural interest than part of Church of Similius' administration. They are sill actively in use, and they are also committed to allow guided tours in Summer.

Crow's Cemetery in Ravenwood serves not only Ravenwood, but the entire Crafthole parish.

What is brand new, is an improved routine of the memorial services. We suggest three different versions, from the cut-to-the-bone budget, to the extravaganza ceremony suited for stately funerals. The third is a medium version costing §5,000 and including enough to please most.
