The "As Days Go By" updates give you a chance to learn the small stories and destinies taking place outside the film series. Every now and then you might also find some ideas for your own game, but I'll not be very detailed in these posts. If you have any questions, feel free to comment, and I'll explain more thoroughly.
This time we'll stop by at each hood only once, meaning less jumping :)
Starting off with a general picture, although it's from Gloomy Garden of Gloomville. Each district (world) has built a tiny Speaker's Corner where locals can debate politics or simply state their view. On this picture the entire Region 12 Council is arguing :) The venue was adjusted afterwards. And yes, the council has a Group, making it easy to gather them, but it also helps when locking doors at the Council House.
Onward to San Myshuno where the Fame feature had most impact.
Penny Pizzazz is actually the only sim who got to work in the Acting career. She has been active in the city's Sing group, frequently attending karaoke bars, and she has also written a few jokes, trying her luck with comedy.
But during the past 2 simyears she focused more on acting. She is now a 3 stars celebrity. It's been fun testing this career and there's yet many sets to explore.
Penny loves hanging out at the clubs and lounges, and her dream was actually to become a model.
She also maintains her online social profile, and occasionally she took advantage of equipment at Plumbob Studios.
Another person who loves uploading videos and stuff, is Diego Lobo at Uptown.
He still resides alone with his two poodles, and he is a successful arts critic. I must admit I cheated his fame, but he will do art videos to maintain his popularity.
There's many artists living at Arts Quarter. Anaya and Baako Jang have a long history in the city's artist groups already. Anaya is a good singer and painter, but she chose politics instead of doing singing professionally. She is this period's Contact for the Arts Quarter. Baako is a popular comedian, while he dreams of being a pro musician.
Baako doesn't always drag the huge crowd, but he is fine with that. Their daughter is still a child, but will probably aim for the public scene when she grows up?
Also residing Arts Quarter is the Gupta family. Myrna Gupta is a well known Food Critic. She also upload food articles and has loads of followers. There is a problem being a food critic when the papparazzi flock to your table. She can no longer visit restaurants incognito, meaning she can't value the service, only the food basics. She might be looking for a career twist soon...
Her husband August is a Singer, but not ambitious enough to build a career. He is the brother of well know singer Olivia Clump, so August could probably do well if he just focused a bit more. Now he is getting too old for doing much about it, though.
Their son Donald is still a teen, but daughter Dora is young adult and tries to build a career from mixing music. Shewas a DJ for a few years and often visits the bigger clubs of Windenburg. Getting her new mixing table was a dream come through for Dora!
Just a quick stop at the apartment of the Adrian family who resides at Fashion District:
Dina (Caliente) Adrian has quit her restaurant job and rather took up canning. She produces jam and pickles, and sell them on a market Saturdays. In my game only those holding a Right (ref Farm Rights) can sell produce directly by drag-and-drop. Region 12 offers no such rights for canning, meaning she can not sell directly to the market. I should add that I don't play this household much, so I don't have to deal with those details... :)
Walking with a plate in his hand is oldest son Flamenco. He is a fresh teen, and I think he joined the Celebrity Autograph Hunters Group. The three triplet daughters are still children.
Now moving to Gloomville (my Willow Creek).
Also Ollie Raven do canning. He (and his family) grows a few ingredients, and every Saturday he tries to sell the products at Muggerdale Market. This lot used to be a traditional market place where farmers came to sell crops and animals, but currently the lot is tagged as restaurant with its outdoor serving, meaning guests ignore any sales stand. I will try tagging the place differently, even if the restaurant must go.
The Schwaini family is Ollie Raven's neighbors. They were always criminals and even into black magic. It's also the filthiest home of Muggerdale, and the 2 cats are often sick. Miri is 93 years old now, and his son Rambo took over the house years ago, while Rambo's sister Sculla moved to San Myshuno.
Rambo did meet a woman, Cheyenne Breen, and they have been dating for a while. She is rather poor just like Rambo, making long story short, she married him!
Miri has let go of his late wife's spirit. In my game there is a rule saying they can keep the urn at home for max 1 year to mourn, then they must release the dead sim's spirit as part of the graveyard ceremony. Not all my hoods have a graveyard, and this is the project councilor Fanny Silverbone has been working on for a while.
Leaving the trashy Muggerdale and heading for the luxurious Upperton...
Bud von Kaching is on the Region 12 Council. His profession is not Politician but Business, and being a Councilor for the 2nd period gives him some fame. He maintains his popularity by giving speeches and updating his social profile. And he maintains his lovely wealth by doing the rght investments.
Bud's lovely wife, Rose, is mostly occupied with her own looks, her gallery that is located in Newcrest, and the fact that the famous painter Vince Remeréz, who has been rentng a larger room in the von Kaching home, might move out. Like Rose stated, the artist brings fame to her gallery business. How will she manage without Vince on the team?
Vince Remeréz is popular and busy like never before. It was kinda cute finding him selling his art at Arts Quarter in San Myshuno, while another household was active.
Vince has also started dating actress Penny Pizzazz. Here they enjoy a party in Windenburg.
One more household to visit in Gloomville, the Grossing family in Willow Field. They were always famous, Camilla is a successful writer and Kevin a Virtuoso. They both have many fans all over SimNation. Their son Jamiels married with Sabrina Clump and settled with a daughter in Brindleton Bay while daughter Linda is about to take over the nice family residence. She is still single, likes music and might focus on playing the guitar.
In Newcrest lives the most popular singer, Olivia Clump.
She sold lots of CDs in the past, and also gives concerts occasionally. But - everything in life seems to suddenly take a downward turn - when her husband died of old age, age affected her voice, and while she still performs she no longer drags a huge audience. The sad thing is that she had to take up a huge bank loan to keep the big family home - this family was in focus during my "Five Unites Challenge" project. Now I feel sorry for them. This family is struggling a bit, their social status is about to drop, although Olivia is still well known...
I mentioned the group Celebrity Autograph Hunters. They have members from the entire region, even two from Windenburg! Emerson Rosewood from Oasis Springs, son of councilor Josue, is very eager.
Only teens are allowed, and the group head to Del Sol Valley or other popular hangouts to collect autographs. It's quite fun actually, how you can benefit from the celebrity system without necessarily playing the famous sims.
Also in Oasis Springs, lives the Twoller household. With 2 kids they wanted to move to a bigger house in a better hood.
Toby Twoller is a well known Virtuoso, you might have seen his concert in As Sims Go By (ep2). He was one f the contenders in my 2014 blog project "Sims By Numbers", where he was top 3. He is seen everywhere playing his fiddle, on city squares or in a local pub on ghost night. He is very popular, but never forgot his roots.
Any celebrities in Brindleton Bay? Not really.
Sabrina C. Grossing is married to Jamiels, son of Camilla and Kevin Grossing, just mentioned above. Sabrina might become a famous resident, because she has landed a job as a TV-host! She is quite excited, but also worries about how it will be to leave her little family. The job takes place at Simmerville Studio, located in Gloomville. She will host the "HIP Prime Show", you might already have seen it? (HIP = How I Play).
Back in year 216 Sabrina had a bad feeling when seeing the studio set for the first time. She would talk about Farm Rights with guests in studio, something she never did before.
She did ot even get help with her makeup (as this took place prior to the Get Famous additions). But it worked well, and she is currently having a growing number of followers and is looking forward to the next show that will deal with Shopping Malls...
Finally - one quick stop at Dresden in Windenburg.
This is the Fyres farm, this is where Siobhan Fyres grew up, before she moved to San Myshuno and became Secretary at the Council House.
This Sunday Siobhan, or Joanna as she is called at work, visited her parents. There is a conflict between Siobhan and her younger sister Morgan. This household is huge, and the two girls will inherit a lot in the future. I can imagine Siobhan's disappointment when her mother announced that there will be an extra love child born in this house later this year! It means the family values no longer will be shared between two heirs, but three - minimum...
