- It's a girl!, Myrhna happily stated. - I so wanted a baby girl!
- You mean girls are better?
- Not that, but we already have a son. It's great to have both!
Albert did agree silently. He wanted to save his applause until he could see if this little baby girl would turn out as ugly as her mom.
Myrhna's elderly mother, Mrs Anna Eastwall, was not very thrilled about the new family member. She was of course proud to become a granny for the second time, but the house is too small. She will need to share bedroom with one toddler and one baby for the rest of her stay! She was planning to stay for a year, she had not yet informed them that she actually sold her apartment back in SimCity. She will need to live with her daughter's family until she knows what to do!
But telling Myrhna now that the new baby changed it all?
- Hey there, son in law!, she called.
- Busy reading, can't you see?
- Well, the bathtub is broken, you will need to fix it, young man!
- Can't do that right now, I'm studying!, Albert replied with a frown building up.
- Shhh, books are for losers!, this old woman claim to take her daily bath!
But Albert just refrained from answering. It was time for lunch and he was studying cooking.
- This house is way too small for us... for you!, Mrs Anna Eastwall said. - You really need something bigger now that little Edna is born!
- We will do just fine, said Myrhna.
- But you will need one extra bedroom for guests, said Anna. - I mean, one room for each of the kids.
- Mom, it's totally up to us whether we need one extra room or not. If the nursery room gets too noisy, you can sleep on the living room sofa.
- Or in a tent outside, Albert whispered.
- Sleeping on the sofa, my age?, Anna gasped and got up from her chair. - I've heard enough nonsense! Until you two have made up your mind, expanding this house or moving to something bigger, I will lock myself in, in my current room! And I won't let you in until you can assure me that improvements will be made!
The old woman marched into the nursery.
- Wait! Mom! You can't lock that door! It's our nursery, Hui and Edna are in there!
- Exactly, and you won't have access until I unlock this door!
Then the door was shut, and both Myrhna and Albert were sitting in shock. Myrhna shocked by her old mom's behavior, and Albert shocked by how difficult it was to learn a new fish recipe.
- Albert, you gotta do something!
- Why me?, he asked, hardly looking up.
- Because you are the man of this house.
- So what should the man of the house do?
- How about telling his mother in law that she will need to move out tomorrow?
Myrhna was exhausted! First the birth not long ago, but even more because of her mom.
She walked outside, bringing her guitar. She had not been practicing in a very long time.
The fresh air was good for thinking. Should they really expand the house? They could afford it, at least if they didn't overdo anything. But she would need to get rid of her mom, it was obvious that the old woman had turned senile or at least insane. It would not be wise to allow her to stay much longer.
