Welcome! :) On this blog you will find stories, how i play and videos created with The Sims 4, but also a few projects from older game versions can be found in the Archive. The old TS3 stories have their own blogs. Most long going stories have a main page with index of updates.

Check out Simmerville's Youtube channel!

I'm no longer on Tumblr! I refused to give all their 3rd parties unlimited access to my computer. Link still works, but no updates.

Rose Gallery

[The Sims 4, Get to Work] Today I want to share a brand new community lot with you, it's a gallery classified a Retail (Get To Work required). In my original Gloomville there is a wealthy family named von Kaching, the Adult couple is named Rose & Bud (ya, you got it?). These days Rose opened a new business in Crestville (in the Newcrest region of Gloomville). The business idea is quite intriguing, and I'm yet not 100% sure it will work the way I hope for.

So, this is the wonderful Mrs. Rose von Kaching. She married to the filthy rich business man, Bud von Kaching long ago, in fact their two children are about to become young adults. Rose always dreamed about running her own business, she already had a small gallery in central Gloomville since a few years, but the business was too limited.

Now she finally found a promising location at Crestville. More about her business idea later.

The von Kaching family resides a huge house at Gloomville Upperton. Son (blond hair like his mother), Edward Bertophelus von Kaching, just turned Young Adult and bought his first business. Daughter, Aili von Kaching (wearing glasses), is still a teenager for a short time.

Let's check out Rose Gallery! The building below used to be a factory, and with a little care it turned out to meet Rose's expectations perfectly. The original roof indicates that something creative is going on, right? It's just one floor, but that's all what Rose will need.

There is also a fenced in backyard, might be useful for storing crafted items before they go for sale.

and here's the floor plan:

The idea is to display the work of 4 different artists/crafters. Each of them will get one room each. I can see 2 rooms used for paintings or photos, 1 for wood crafted items, and perhaps one for herbal brews. Rose will equip each room as needed, and each artist will deliver minimum 10 works/products. The red floored front area includes Rose's office and cash register. To the left there is a locked off employee room with access to the mentioned backyard.

A wide corridor separates the display rooms, that are open by huge arches. Customers will of course walk freely between the 4 rooms.

The restroom is quite open. There is room enough to add more facilities, like a bathroom for employees. But Rose doesn't plan any employees, she prefers to control it all by herself. But never say never...

Rose did some painting in the past, abut she is poorly skilled at level 4. Most likely her fashion sense never went well together with the colors and the mess. So she works quite slowly. In the backroom she rigged 3 easels because she might fill one of the 4 rooms with her own works, She might be able to paint a little during quiet gallery hours.

All 4 display rooms are still empty, but hopefully she will find some renters soon! You might wonder how there will be arranged a rent? Well, the artist contributes with 10 works that Rose will sell. I think the artist can simply visit the gallery to place the items after making the deal. Rose gets to keep all income 100%. However, every Friday the gallery's earnings will be shared between the renters, only, nothing for the gallery. I think this might be the reason why Rose plans to display her own works in one of the rooms... (game technically, money can be transferred with the "money" cheat).

Rose will also spend some time at her desk, located right next to the huge window facing the street. This way sims passing by will see her and hopefully stop by. It's also a good position for greeting any new guests.

On this first day Rose locked off the 4 empty display rooms. In the front area there are regular paintings and art posters for sale. The room quickly filled up on this very opening day...

Only a few customers cared about the art, though! Well, Rose understands that she must give it all some time. And, maybe she should greet the customers, too?

There will be a real opening night at Rose Gallery once the 4 rooms are filled. Then there will be served snacks and nectar, and she should also provide some music by then.

I can't wait to see how this will work...

If you are interested in the build, you can find it in the official gallery (Sandy Run Gallery). Get to Work, Dine Out and Outdoor Retreat might be required.
