Old-Duke is dead - Wedding downscaled

(Year 229, Brindleton Bay) House de Cavalier reports the death of Old-Duke Aquess (82)! His full name was Aquess Benedict de Cavalier, and he was the 3rd Duke de Cavalier, residing Chateau Cavalier most of his life.

Aquess married the Hon. Claudine Roxenfox and they had 3 children. When he stepped down due to poor health 2 years ago, he and Old-Duchess Claudine moved to Hindquarter Manor near by.

He led a successful Military career, and aged 62 he was awarded the "High Order of Warriors". When retiring he took up writing. Fiction  combined with local history became his brand, despites never really breaking through it gave him great pleasure. He easily got involved with various sides of community, like being Patron of Brindleton Horticultural Society (Y182-189).

Old-Duke Aquess leaves behind the widowed Old-Duchess Claudine, 3 children and 1 grandchild.

His oldest son, Charlopold Demitris, took over the dukedom already, after several requests the Royal Chamber finally accepted to make an exception to the rigid rule following the peerage's letter of patent.

The current Duke Charlopold has declared 1 season of grief at Chateau Cavalier. This means all community engagements as well as intern receptions have been canceled, and all members of House de Cavalier will wear black. Old-Duke will get his final rest in the chateau's Crypt, where also the previous dukes are resting.

Following the tragic event, Duke Charlopold and Lady Luna has decided to scale down their upcoming wedding, to take place this Summer. The ceremony will go on as planned with all invited guests in the chateau gardens, but the following dinner was canceled and a small reception will be held instead.

This wedding was long disapproved by the Old-Duke, but when it turned out that Luna is daughter of Duke Merlin von Windenburg, and not of the criminal late Jacques Villareal, the marriage was approved on, just in time. Still, with all the controversies and the wedding following pretty shortly after the funeral, a  huge party would be out of the place, according to the young Duke.
