(Year 229) With only the Winter until the big Year 230 election is coming up, it's time to highlight a few of the more interesting local battles! Each hood will have its Hood Contact, and normally only in a few hoods there are candidates from all three political parties, RIGHT party, LEFT party and MIDDLE party. Now that the N.A.P. votes are in and the parties have publicized their ranked list of candidates, we finally know who will be running. In 32 hoods there will be minimum one Hood Contact candidate, but only 6 of those hoods will have a full 3 parties battle: Arts Quarter in San Myshuno (Region 12), Sable Square in Brindleton Bay (Region 12), Upperton in Gloomville (Region 12), Oldtown in Windenburg (Region 1), Crafthole Town (Region 4) and Tartosa (Region 3). Let's check out some of them!
In San Myshuno's Arts Quarter LEFT's Anaya Jang is the most merited Politician as she is currently leading the Culture & Entertainment Dept. of The People Chamber.
|
Abhrin Wusha (58, RIGHT), Anaya Jang (63, LEFT) and Chaos Kessler (35, MIDDLE). |
Jang is likely to keep her position as Hood Contact, but also RIGHT party's
Abhrin Wusha is a long timer, he might be a serious contender as he was 5 years ago only 4 votes behind Jang.
The newcomer, MIDDLE party's (actor)
Chaos Kessler, is not expected to be established enough, although he has managed to build popularity with the younger voters.
At the pet friendly Sable Square in Brindleton Bay (Region 12) we find the same 3 candidates that were running 5 years ago.
|
Robert Calves (59, RIGHT), Fanny Silverbone (69, LEFT) and Miranda Mox (43, MIDDLE). |
LEFT party's
Fanny Silverbone is a rather popular Politician, currently leading the Health & Welfare Dept., and with a total of 3 periods she should be able to keep the Hood Contact position, and probably also her seat in The People Chamber. LEFT ranks her 2nd, meaning she could be up for department lead again. Due to her age this will be Silverbone's last election. However, running for Hood Contact is not necessarily accepting a Chamber seat. We know Silverbone has her hands full at home running a farm including milk delivery, keeping several dogs for breeding, and raising two children. Even if her husband stays in charge of her farm, family life might prevent her from another period at The People Chamber. Time will tell...
RIGHT party's candidate,
Robert Calves, was Silverbone's toughest challenger 5 years ago, but still did not reach up top her level. He actually moved to Chestnut Ridge years ago, but because he spends more than 25% in his old farm house at Sable Square, he can still run for Hood Contact. MIDDLE party's candidate, farmer
Miranda Mox, has little experience from the political scene, although running for the second time.
Also at Upperton in Gloomville (Region 12) this election's candidates are the same as in the Y225 election.
|
Charlotta Mu. Crumleton (62, RIGHT), Marvin Robinson (63, LEFT) and Gunther (Munch) Crumpleton (46, MIDDLE). |
Charlotta Crumpleton (RIGHT party) won back then, but only with 1 vote more than the runner up, LEFT party's Marvin Robinson. LEFT party's core group has signalized that Robinson will not have their support for The People Chamber, which means he will most likely not be ranked very high, even if he wins Upperton. These things are not set in stone until the election votes are counted, though.
MIDDLE party's candidate in this hood will be Crumpleton's husband,
Gunther (Munch) Crumpleton. It's extremely rare that multiple members of the same household run for the same election, they would not be allowed to represent the same political party. He did not do very well last time, so a win should be less likely - or might the ECO trend help him?
Finally - in Tartosa (Region 3) we also have candidates from all 3 parties. The winning Hood Contact will represent both hoods of this sunny village that many of us will know from vacations.

Emma Ratchild (59, RIGHT), Jackton de Buttercups (44, LEFT) and Launi Bitten (52, MIDDLE). |
It will be a repeat battle for two of the three candidates:
Emma Ratchild (RIGHT party) and
Launi Bitten (MIDDLE). Ratchild is all for tourism, while Bitten has said that tourism is harming the Tartosan nature. The 3rd candidate,
Jackton de Buttercups (LEFT party), a local nectar producer that is rather fresh on the local political scene, has stated that Tartosa is benefiting from welcoming tourists being integrated with their trading with other regions - it's a give and take and pollution can be fought in other ways.
