(Year 229) Every 5 years the N.A.P. vote takes place prior to the main election. This sets the platform for the political program, and also might reveal in what districts each political party stands strong. This weekend the voting was on, and here are the results that will affect us in the years 230-234!
From the N.A.P. voting this weekend. |
For this round there are 117 hoods, and the party getting the most N.A.P. wins per region will activate their main N.A.P. in all hoods of that region. In addition each party can activate each of their other N.A.P.s in one hood where that N.A.P. won the vote. Having strong local support might affect the upcoming People Chamber election, as candidates running for Hood Contact in a hood already "NAP'ed" by their own party, will normally grant their candidate some extra votes.
It turned out to be a pretty close race between the LEFT party and the RIGHT party. LEFT got 47 hoods and won 6 of 8 regions, which might seem like a landslide, but not when it comes to affected seats at The People Chamber. Their N.A.P. "Foodies Unites", rooted by the party's "No Sim Left Behind" fraction, will be the new dominating N.A.P. in the regions of Windenburg , Rossie, Tredony, Aarbyville, Advorton and Ticktop. It means we will see a bigger focus on anything culinary related, no matter what party wins the Hood Contacts election. Number of Hood Contacts sets number of seats at The People Chamber, and what party gets the President, but that election will not be on until 1st day of Spring (1st day of Year 230).
President Laurent Pepperstone was satisfied with the LEFT party results. Here with his wife Aronica. |
- We did as expected, we did well, thank you!, said President Pepperstone who celebrated the results in Tartosa, with the LEFT party's core group and wife, Aronica, who is also a member of the party.
The RIGHT party was very close in Windenburg, Rossie and Ticktop, but they only won 2 of 8 regions: Crafthole and Mazaloom. In these two regions RIGHT's N.A.P. "Tech Support", rooted by the party's "Simoleons for Everyone" fraction, is the new regional N.A.P..
Vice President Wilder (RIGHT party) posing with wife Holly Alto at Uptown, where they reside. |
In San Myshuno Vice President Wilder was celebrating with wife, Holly Alto.
- Winning Region 12 is important to the RIGHT party, after all, this is where most people resides!
And Wilder is right. Winning 2 versus 6 regions is still seen as a close race, because the regions won by LEFT represent 9 seats at The People Chamber, while RIGHT's two wins represent 10 seats due to the larger population. Although the N.A.P. win is not directly affecting those chamber seats, it might indicate that the upcoming Y230 election will be close race, too.
Rebekah Starks, leader of the ECO-founded MIDDLE party, is not happy with the result. |
How about the 3rd political party - the much smaller MIDDLE party? Before this voting the hopes were high. Their leader, Rebekah Starks, is not satisfied.
- We achieved a total of 31 local N.A.P.s, which is quite impressive, but we won no region. Still, with that many inactive local N.A.P. wins we might be able to take many Hood Contacts, come Election Day, and that is what counts regarding how many seats we will get in The People Chamber!
In Region 12 (60 hoods), which is the region with most seats, it was very close between all three parties: RIGHT won the N.A.P. in 21 hoods, LEFT won 20, and MIDDLE won 19 hoods. MIDDLE party might be able to grab 3 of Region 12's 9 seats, and that would be a huge improvement as they only have 1 of this region's seats today.
The activated N.A.P.s
After the new regional dominating N.A.P.s are set, each party gets to activate each of their N.A.P.s in one of the hoods where it won the local vote, aka the secondary N.A.P.. This means that most hoods have just the dominating N.A.P., while a few have two active N.A.P.s. Activating the secondary N.A.P. has little effect in the upcoming big election, but it is a way to show off and raise support for the party's program. Besides, this routine makes use of the ECO Lifestyle N.A.P.s in a very limited number of hoods, still adding a flair of geographical diversity. With this routine, most N.A.P.s are used in minimum one hood.
The final result
Except from national tax&relief, that will be set on Election Day by which party wins the President, this will be each region's activated N.A.P.s for the coming 5 years:
Windenburg (Region 1) has LEFT's "Foodies Unite" N.A.P. active in all hoods.
Regional taxes §1,000 per household and additional §1,000 if having a populated Chicken Coop.
Regional refunds of §1,000 if growing minimum 20 edible plants and §1,000 per wedding.
Oldtown also gets MIDDLE's "Free Love", and Moonwood gets RIGHT's "Juiced Community". Traditionally LEFT is very strong in Windenburg.
Rossie (Region 2) has LEFT's "Foodie Unite" N.A.P. active in all hoods.
Regional taxes §1,000 per household and additional §1,000 if having a populated Chicken Coop.
Regional refunds of §1,000 if growing minimum 20 edible plants and §1,000 per wedding.
Gibbs Hill also gets LEFT's "Power conservation". Rossie is the region where the MIDDLE party hoped for a total win, instead they got nothing.
Tredony (Region 3) has LEFT's "Foodie Unite" N.A.P. active in all hoods.
Regional taxes §1,000 per household and additional §1,000 if having a populated Chicken Coop.
Regional refunds of §1,000 if growing minimum 20 edible plants and §1,000 per wedding.
Tredony town also gets MIDDLE's "Green gardening", while Tartosa gets no additional N.A.P. activated for the coming 5 years. This is another region where LEFT holds very strong traditions, and also where LEFT party leader and current President of The People Chamber, Laurent Pepperstone, resides.
Crafthole (Region 4) has RIGHT's "Tech support" active in all hoods.
Regional taxes §1,000 per populated Animal Shed and §1,000 per populated Chicken Coop.
Regional refund of §1,000 per household and additional §1,000 refunded if one household member has maxed minimum one skill (level 10).
Crafthole town also gets RIGHT's "Fun-loving community" activated. This region is where the RIGHT party stands very strong, slightly stronger in Crafthole town than Copperdale, though.
Aarbyville (Region 6) has LEFT's "Foodie Unite" N.A.P. active in all hoods.
Regional taxes §1,000 per household and additional §1,000 if having a populated Chicken Coop.
Regional refunds of §1,000 if growing minimum 20 edible plants and §1,000 per wedding.
Aarby also gets RIGHT's "Rock your Body (& Mind)" activated.
Advorton (Region 7) has LEFT's "Foodie Unite" N.A.P. active in all hoods.
Regional taxes §1,000 per household and additional §1,000 if having a populated Chicken Coop.
Regional refunds of §1,000 if growing minimum 20 edible plants and §1,000 per wedding.
Advorton town also gets LEFT's "Power conservation" activated. Both Aarbyville and Advorton are pretty strong regions for the LEFT party.
Ticktop (Region 8) has LEFT's "Foodie Unite" N.A.P. active in all hoods.
Regional taxes §1,000 per household and additional §1,000 if having a populated Chicken Coop.
Regional refunds of §1,000 if growing minimum 20 edible plants and §1,000 per wedding.
No extra N.A.P. activated here. In this region LEFT and RIGHT actually were equally strong winning 3 hoods each, but because LEFT won 5 years ago, they got the benefit of continuance.
Mazaloom (Region 12) has RIGHT's "Tech support" active in all hoods.
Regional taxes §1,000 per populated Animal Shed and §1,000 per populated Chicken Coop.
Regional refund of §1,000 per household and additional §1,000 refunded if one household member has maxed minimum one skill (level 10).
In addition Muggerdale in Gloomville gets MIDDLE's "Upscaling initiative" activated, Nookstone in Oasis Springs gets RIGHT's "Clean energy production", Crestville in Newcrest gets LEFT's "Support the Performing Arts", Whiskerman's Wharf in Brindleton Bay gets MIDDLE's "Eco-friendly appliances" activated.
Region 12 is a huge region with a mix of political trends. Still the region is traditionally leaning towards the RIGHT party, perhaps with the exception of Oasis Springs, where the 3 parties are quite equal, and Brindleton Bay where the MIDDLE party did very well 5 years ago. The RIGHT party leader and current Vice President of The People Chamber, Rob Wilder, resides in San Myshuno. MIDDLE party leader, Rebekah Starks, resides in Newcrest. An ongoing regional reform is expected to suggest to split Region 12 into at least 2 regions, this will not affect the upcoming Y230 election, though.
With the N.A.P. system set for the coming 5 years period, patterns start lining up to the big election for The People Chamber in just 3 months (1st Day of Spring). Then we will know the local Hood Contacts, the new Councils, the President and Vice President of The People Chamber, and who will be leading each of the 5 departments for the years 230, 231, 232, 233 and 234.
Really interesting!!! đ
