Crystal Crafters

(Year 232, Spring) Crystal creation has been taking up on popularity recently, as more and more wants to craft their own bling. To most this is a hobby, and we all know that hobbies tend to last for a limited time. When they filled their jewelry boxes, will they still be as devoted to Gemology?

There are a few professionals, though. They run their business like they did in the past. To run very effectively they need to buy a Produce Deed, and because there are only two of those there are only two such serious businesses. But others can still make a living from their Gemology skills, they just need to sell their products in more tedious ways than the nifty "drag-and-drop" method.

The biggest and longest running professional business is Jespers Jewelry Broker, Inc. It was founded by Erica J. Rab-Saxor, Baroness of Prome. She has been running her business for about 30 years already. She is pushing elderhood, and both her two daughters are expected to get involved now that they are young adults.

Erica rented at Hotel Roadstead in Magnolia Promenade ever since the start. She specializes on crafting jewelries for the aristocracy, involving each House's assigned gem stone. Anyone can of course use any gem stone, but long ago each House was assigned with a crystal (high nobility) or a metal (low nobility). Those Houses already owns some old and precious jewelry with their gem, and Erica tries to help them adding new designs for their modern women - and men. She also focus on cleansing, repairing and storing historical jewelries, and being a broker, she even find new owners whenever old pieces changes hands.

She welcomes her customers, who often are from the Houses of the old aristocracy, to help them picking the right bling. Also the Royal Family is on Erica's list.

The other Gemology Prioduce Deed is owned by Madam Maxim Sprucewood. Many see her as the original who founded the Sprucewood primary school in Evergreen Harbor. She sold her school years ago, and now she resides with her daughter in StrangerVille. Maxim L*O*V*E*S bling.

She loves designing her own jewelry, but because Jesper Jewelry Broker already has the better part of the market, Maxim decided to focus even more on cutting gems.

Her business has no name, and she is quite relaxed with it all. Now that her daughter becomes a teenager, they might work on some new ideas together.

Also in Glimmerbrook Gemology stands strong. The traditional jewelry crafting has roots in the more secluded districts, such as Glimmerbrook and Moonwood Mill, and the gems came from mining activity in Oasis Springs, Copperdale and Crafthole. Today anyone in need for a specific piece with a certain touch of magic will turn to the Charm family.

Minerva S. Charm is not very skilled, but she can serve Glimmerbrook incl. Tickertown with their demands. Her teen daughter Gemma will help out as needed, and might eventually take over her mom's position.

They do both jewelry and cut gems. But hey claim to not be running a traditional business. It's more like a lifestyle, or a habit that you just can't let go.

Other Gemologists worth mentioning are the Chestnut tribe of Chestnut Ridge, Mrs. Meredith Rossell in StrangerVille, and Bianca Sterner who runs a small jewelry market in Copperdale.

And you might have heard rumors of the old Crystal Tree? It's not just another myth, they actually exist! They hold a very long tradition, and Gemologists see them as holy. Only one of them grows in Glimmerbrook.

The full story of the old Crystal Trees will follow shortly!
