As Days Go By - Year 218 - Picture Post

It's time for another update on my "As Days Go By". This is the picture thread series where each update covers one sim year, and here you will meet families that are not featured in the "As Sims Go By" video series.

I just completed year 218, and there's so much going on! I've also built a few more community venues, most of them will be featured in the video series. And - many new couples are about to have their first child, which is always exciting, of course :)

Let's start this 28 pictures tour in San Myshuno. I still find new aspects to like about living in city apartments. You might recall the painting artist Vince Remeréz, he was thrown out from his rented room with the von Kaching family. But no reason to worry, he is successful, he has got the money he wants, and now he even coupled up with actress Penny Pizzazz.

They resides a huge flat in Arts Quarter, and I really love this flat and don't quite understand how I never played this lot before!

They are both 4 stars celebrities.

Penny is a successful actress. Once she was stopping by a bar to have a quick drink on her way home, and did not actually expect all other guests to pass out...

I'll admit I did not play Penny a lot, but she was the perfect sim for testing the acting career. In fact, I think she is the only one I took to the Plumbob Studios. I always made her take the risky choices when acting, and I think that helped her career.

She is growing older, and I think it's time for her and Vince to have a child pretty soon. They are not married yet, and even if they tie the knob formally, I'm not sure what lastname the child should have. I like both Remeréz and Pizzazz, and would like them both top live on.

Moving over to Brindleton Bay where Fanny Silverbone has taking farming a tad more seriously.

She still breeds dogs, but not as intensively as before. She also paints occasionally, but her real career turned out to be Politics. She is soon done with her first 5 years period on the Region 12 Council, representing Brindleton Bay.

Right now her good neighbor George Domus is about to move in at Fanny's farm.

They are not a couple, but if you watched "As Sims Go By" you probably noticed that George is interesting in more then staying in her spare bedroom. He helped Fanny running her farm for a year already, neglecting his own Domus Farm. The solution was to allow Miranda Mox and Alan Mugger from Gloomville rent Domus Farm. This way George will have a backup in case it doesn't work out living with Fanny.

On his last day at home, George harvested everything he could, including the honey. He wears earrings with his beehive suit, just like farmer Agaton Oaksdale in Gloomville. It's a glitch to stay, obviously! Buh, EA!

Elsewhere in Brindleton Bay, TV-star Sabrina Grossing and musician Jamiels Grossing lives with their daughter in Cavalier Cove. Sabrina hosts the "HIP-show" (How I Play), it's available on my YT-channel.

But oh-oh, Sabrina and Jamiels did quarrel a lot, I'm not sure what about, but as Jamiels has been seeing another woman, I guess that might be the reason. So, they divorced and Jamiels moved out.

He moved in with Edith Mox, head of the Mox household in Willow Field in Gloomville. Edith's parents (Ochana & Chad) are still around, and her younger twins siblings, Paula and Pivian, also live in the house.

Jamiels is son of a famous couple living just across the street. Edith and Jamiels already married and had a daughter.

Across the street is also the Hikes house.

Three young adult siblings, all more or less criminals, moved in there long ago, and nowadays only Ella Hikes stays there with her daughter.

This toddler daughter is the result of Ella's one night stand with an elderly, wealthy man, she met in a bar. Ella's goal is to claim heritage on behalf of the child, and if DNA is required, no problem...

Talking of babies, Zilla Brox panicked when she realized she was all alone in this world, and pushing elderhood. She hooked up with a bartener, who she still sees but has no intention of asking to move in.

And guess what - 67 years old Zilla gave birth to triplets!!! All boys: Ruperto, Bart and Casanova.

In 4 years Zilla becomes an elder, then the boys will stay toddlers for 1 more year. I keep them babies just 1 year, then toddlers 4 years, and kids 10 years. There is a high risk that Zilla will die from old age before any of her sons becomes teenagers. Will they the be taken away? She should look for a new house anyway, because now she stays in a split lot.

The other household also counts 4 sims. It's the Kammin family.

Brenda Kammin (wearing red top) is a good friend of Zilla. Brenda is a tour guide working at the Old Salt House Shopping Mall in San Myshuno. She had 2 daughters with Mark Oaksdale, who is brother of the farmer Agaton Oaksdale, across the street. Brenda and Mark will turn elderly in about 4 years, and their twin daughters Tilla and Lilly just became teenagers. This household might move to the city, not quite decided yet...

Let's stop by at Gloomville's poor quarters, Muggerdale. Amy S. Raven works as a Janitor, serving all hoods of Gloomville and Newcrest. She is married to Ollie Raven, who makes a living from canning, and they have a son and a daughter, both 25 years old.

The next pictures were taken at Upperton, that's because Amy Raven normally starts her cleaning up sessions in the richer quarters. The residents of those hoods are the first to complain, besides the regional councilors often resides the better addresses.

Amy is outdoors in nearly all kinds of weather. She burns leaf piles on the traditional pile burning day (last day of Fall), which means she can also warm herself before she walks on to other chores. She also tends flowers on community lots, cleans public toilets and sinks, empty dustbins and makes community lots look nice and clean. It's not a well paid job, but she enjoys not needing to work every single day.

Raven's neighbour, the Schwaini family, are known to deal with occultism. They are very poor, and this year the old Miri Schwaini died at 96. I think he was the oldest resident of the entire region.

This household is now Rambo and Cheyenne, with their kids (oh, twins, surprise) Cathie and Phiri.

Note that Cheyenne is not alone on the picture above, there are at least 2 chickens in their living room! :O

Moving on to the Crtumpleton household in Upperton, Gloomville.

Owner of the huge Villa Crumpleton, Charlotta Murderia Crumpleton (51), surprised everyone when engaging Gunther Munch from Windenburg.

Especially Charlotta's sister in-law, Corinne Dougham, was upset, as it's getting unlikely that Corinne's children will ever take over this villa. Because - Charlotta and Gunther are expecting a baby...

Across the street resides councilor Bud von Kaching with his lovely wife Rose and their grown up son, Edward.

They all attended the opening night of the new Fun Factory house, located in Magnolia Promenade.

Bud and Rose's daughter, Aili vK. Landgraab was announced as the new Fun Factory manager. Even if Councilor of Arts & Culture Dept., Josue Rosewood had applied for the job.

Aili has worked as an Arts Critic, and she recently married the wealthy Malcolm Landgraab of Oasis Springs, where they currently reside.

By he way, Fun Factory is a packed venue including small studios for hourly rent, meet & greet areas, crafing areas, dining, bar, and a scene for performances as well as cinema, with about 25 seats.

On main floor there is a white wall where Aili will display all works painted by visitors. On picture above someone is painting back there, while Aili discusses art with Mrs Bjergsen from Windenburg.

And, I mentioned that Josue Rosewood applied for the manager job, but was turned down. It certainly didn't help that the job was given to Bud von Kaching's daughter!

Josue and Bud are both councilors, and they practically hate each other. I'm not sure if there is a bigger reason for this, but basically Bud is always giving Josue a cold shoulder, like if he wants to tell him that he is not good enough. Josue might be informal and not strict about good manners, but the situation s totally unfair to him.

The Rosewood family is actually quite wealthy, and do belong to the upper third of community. Son Emerson (25) is still busy with the Celebrity Autograph Hunting club, and that's where he met Sofia Bjergsen (23). Emerson gave her a present - a framed picture of the two of them...

Yay, cute couple they are...!

Emerson's older sister moved out, and is currently dating the nightmare of Josue's dreams - Edward von Kaching! Josue got very upset, and I'm not sure what he might do to prevent his daughter to marry Bud's son!

Oh, a bonus picture from the Autograph club's many trips to Del Sol Valley. Here comes a celebrity in disguise, I assume. I hate the random outfits for celebrities, as this don't leave it to me to decide their behavior etc. This guy is the well known musician Toby Twoller, who is in no need of a disguise, and who would never wear such a costume no matter what. Well, I just have to let him pass, and forget about it...

Nearly done, just one more stop. In the hood Rivercrest of Newcrest lives the very famous Olivia Clump. She is a successful jazz singer, and she was among the stars entertaining at the Fun Factory opening night. She lives here with her two grown up sons, Garvin (32) and Fred (29).

But there is a catch, as this household is facing financial trouble! Olivia is simply no longer doing as well, or people are tired of her voice, or she is getting too old (65). Whatever the reason might be, her heir Garvin might not be able to keep the house. This is a house I played through several generations, as it was the focus of my previous "Five Units Challenge" on this blog. Sims descending from the Clump household can be found all over the region. I'd hate seeing the Clump family being forced to move elsewhere...

The youngest, Fred Clump, just grew up, and he realized that he will need to build his skills. I'm not sure what he plans, because he is not first in line of heirs, anyway.

It was a tad funny witnessing him in the Gloomville library (Gloomville Archives), studying. Although all chairs but one were available, the librarian chose to sit down next to Fred. How annoying is that when you try to concentrate? Btw, I had no idea librarians were added, can't say I noticed them before. It's pretty cool though, but would be even cooler if my sims could fill those jobs, as well :)

Next picture thread from year 219 will struck in a month or two, as next "As Sims Go By" episode is planned to air during June.
