Welcome! :) On this blog you will find stories, how i play and videos created with The Sims 4, but also a few projects from older game versions can be found in the Archive. The old TS3 stories have their own blogs. Most long going stories have a main page with index of updates.

Check out Simmerville's Youtube channel!

I'm no longer on Tumblr! I refused to give all their 3rd parties unlimited access to my computer. Link still works, but no updates.

Monastery of Similius

(Year 223) In my Region 12 there is both the Church of Similius AND the Monastery of the Peterian faith. Their belief is a bit different, but the cooperates and agree on the belief in our green bars. I had Church of Similius as both a church and monastery in TS3, and now they are also in TS4.

Both institutions follow lots of rules, and it's in fact too much detail for one blog post, but I'll make sure to cover the essentials.

Church of Similius

(This is a slightly extended version of what was posted on my Tumblr a couple weeks ago)

Yes, I have a church in my game, but it’s not a typical religion. The green plumbob happens to be their logo as they simply praise the green bars - at least officially… I had them in TS3, and now they are back to help forming the community structure. They claimed to be treated on the level of high nobility, highly respected and of course with what privileges that might bring them, but with slightly different rules and traditions :)

First picture shows Hippotanius Dipperwell, the 1st Priest in my region after their new church was built in Year 102. He is seen as the founder. There used to exist a much older cathedral in Windenburg, but that was used in the era of the Jacobian faith (cathedral damaged during the big war, now part of the ancient ruins).

WIP: Nobility Jewelry Overview

I'm currently organizing the exclusive jewelry for my nobility. All jewelry and sash regalia etc will be listed in a jewelry section of my community pages.

There you will be able to see what tiaras, necklaces, earrings, bracelets and rings each house has access to, either as owned by the peerage trust or personal property. There will also be sashes, crowns and a few family order bows. Most items have their own story, valuable to historians, and there is even some info on traditions connected to some items. I'll of course do this only for those extra gala worthy items, not for their everyday bling.

Download: 8 new backdrops for Photo Studio

July 2022: Downloading from this blogger post no longer works, so please head over to a new page listing all my TS4  custom content. All free. DOWNLOADS

Are you a bit bored with the very limited backgrounds that come with TS4 Photo Studio? You can of course take your portraits free hand, which also gives better variety when it comes to facial expressions, or you can make arrangemens like I explained in my youtube video "
Get creative with Photo Studio". But every now and then I think the Studio is very good for quick portraits.

I decided to create new backdrops for my game, and here's the first set of 8. Most of them are kinda made for my nobility, but there are also some that are simple enough for any sim who can afford a Photographer's service. The examples shown below are when zooming out as far as you get. Going closer, or switching to horizontal will add even more variety.

Overview Noble Families Year 121

So, I'm done with my historical project where I followed a large number of noble families from Year 0 and up to my current year count, which is Year 223. That's numerous generations where families got tied together in various ways, and more or less successful events decided who fared the better. Along the road several historical events formed the community, such as the big revolution in Year 120 - I'll get back to the History Book aspects in future blog posts.

I also created coat of arms for all these fine families. I had to do a little research on real life heraldic. Based on what I learned I made my own rules, and the motives and colors displayed below are not totally random. In the chart they are sorted in one column per world, ranked by year of introduction. Note that San Myshuno was originally split by the river, and therefore has 2 columns.

I've created several decor objects with the same motives to be used by current noble families who needs to show off their heritage at banquets or just in general. The families who survived through 223 years certainly deserves the extra attention. Other noble families expired half way, and some others I don't intend to play because their peerage is located outside my played region. They remain notes in a spreadsheet, and I might follow them in order to keep mixing families through marriage and politics.

Free Will Show - Episode 10

Here's day 10 of the Free Will Show! And this day sure was a depressed one!

First time with the new "social vote", and in this episode I put more efforts into the dialogues than I normally do. Can't believe they are already on day 10! Voting is open for 7 full days from release. Please see video description for details on how to vote. There is one normal vote on what action the Sim in Focus will perform, and for the social vote you can decide who shall argue with their worst relation in-house. Starting an argue might be interesting as this will often trigger a long series of reactions, probably depending on traits and mood.

Touring House of Saxor - 1 Torendi Tower Penthouse

Duke of Meadows used to reside in their Meadows Palace in San Myshuno. Following the big fire they decided to move into Torendi Tower in Fashion District. Not as much outdoor space, but still a generous dwelling. Being a Duke these days doesn't require six horses and some farmland, anyway!

I rebuilt the penthouse trying to combine modernity with a feel of high noble residence. I'm happy with 1st floor, and not so much with 2nd floor, but I decided to leave any failures to the family living here. The place still lacks a few paintings, decor, carpets and so on, but they will be glad to add those details according to personal taste and historical heirlooms. So, here is a quick tour of the rebuilt penthouse!

Rab-Saxor, Lord von Lykke

So, I'm still enjoying my massive nobility project where local history is being written. I started with a King and his Royal Chamber in Year 1, then introducing the many peerages until the great revolution that took place in Y120. As the result of political insight and quick maneuvers, the last bunch of low noble titles were introduced in a hurry in Y121 in a last attempt to secure future power to the high nobles now that the King was thrown.

Say hello to Mr Rabaan Rab-Saxor, who was introduced to the title Lord Lykke back in Y121. He was given the Lykke title because Duke Hendrian von Windenburg, who had been head of the Royal Chamber since 4 years, had no relative who could benefit from the new title. Although noble titles were not allowed direct connection to specific land, Lord Lykke was indeed meant to serve the Harbor and Isle hoods of Windenburg.

At this time trades were blooming and the harbor was very busy. Rabaan's coat of arms is described as fourths with primary color green and secondary color cream, and a golden sail ship centered. The green color is also known as the primary color of the house of Saxor.
