Welcome! :) On this blog you will find stories, how i play and videos created with The Sims 4, but also a few projects from older game versions can be found in the Archive. The old TS3 stories have their own blogs. Most long going stories have a main page with index of updates.

Check out Simmerville's Youtube channel!

I'm no longer on Tumblr! I refused to give all their 3rd parties unlimited access to my computer. Link still works, but no updates.

Download: 8 Victorian Backdrops for Photo Studio

July 2022: Downloading from this blogger post no longer works, so please head over to a new page listing all my TS4  custom content. All free. DOWNLOADS

[The Sims 4 GTW] Here is a new set of alternative backdrops for your Photo Studio - this time your sim can be accompanied by inviting Victorian landscape paintings! These paintings makes a formal and traditional background, perfect for any upper class families who like to have old fashioned portraits on the wall. Royals and nobility should applaud this set, but any serious Photographer will have this kind of backgrounds ready for anyone who asks (EP Get To Work required).

This is a separate Photo Studio object with 8 new graphics. You will find it next to your original photo studio in catalog.

Pie menu is not edited (no idea how to do that), but browsing through the 8 alternatives shouldn't take you long. A big thank you to Duchess Claudine de Cavalier who was sporty to do the modelling for this set. Most backgrounds work well more close-up, too. Please note that some of the images below are rather dark as I forgot to add extra lighting, that was required in the room.

Also check out my previous Photo Studio Backdrops part 1 and Photo Studio Backdrops part 2. And check back if you want even more in the future!

Download here (no ads).

PS: This set will work well with the set ups explained in my video Get Creative with Photo Studio

Please let me know if any issues!

  1. I've just discovered this blog and I'm loving it! I used to absolutely love Simmerville back in the day - I actually used to be a member of "SUN" back in the day (I was Simbuquereue and later Murdville - not sure if you remember either of those hoods.) Anyway, I'm beyond ecstatic to see new content from Simmerville! Brings back a lot of good memories.

    1. Hello SW!!! :) Wow, it's been a while since I played TS2, those days were my funniest sims days ever! So glad to hear from you! Hope you are fine! I recall Simbuquereue, it was probably the hardest SUN member to spell, LOL. The SUN register is still up, no longer updated and 99% links are probably gone. I did not intend to share as much detail in TS4, but guess I couldn't stop myself. Most of my story telling/role play was moved to my Youtube channel, though.
Do you have a TS3 or TS4 site - do share url and I'll add it to my blog roll.

  2. Could have sworn I replied to you back in May, but I guess not. To answer your question, no I don't have any TS3 or TS4 websites right now. I couldn't really get into those games. I just felt the gameplay lacked depth and detail compared to the first two The Sims games.

However, this new sandbox people simulator I've been hearing about looks promising. It's called Paralives - maybe you've been hearing about it too? It's not due to come out for another two years or so, but if it's anywhere near as good as the previews make it look I might do a project with that game.

    1. Yes, heard about the new game, but I'm probably skipping both Paralives and TS5. It takes too much of my time, I'll just hang out in my TS4 universe - or quit gaming. So many other projects getting too little attention ;)
