I've put together collages trying to present their preferred attire for most common occasions. The dress code will be either GALA, FORMAL or CASUAL, and the two latter codes have different rules based on whether the event takes place at day or night.
Let's check out the high nobility peers; Duke of Rossie, Duke of Meadows, Duke de Cavalier and Baron of Gloom. There are more high nobility peerages, but they are currently waiting for heir to get old enough for coronation or they are held by someone with multiple peerages. So, these 4 men are actually all my high nobility peer males at the moment.
A is the most formal attire used for GALA. The royal military uniform can be worn only by high nobility peer of a peerage that expects the peer to join the Military career, and if the peer himself has reached Officer rank. Baron of Gloom is not a Militarian, so he wears a tuxedo. It's normal to top it off with the sash of your highest ranked order. Only Jarret Ross and Aquess de Cavalier wear the red sash of the "High Order of Warriors", which can only be worn on a military uniform - royal or civil. The other two simply don't own this sash. So instead, Victus Saxor wears his green Meadows District Order sash, and Bud von Kaching wears the orange Gloom District Order sash. The huge medal that they all wear on sash is "The Baltazar" which states that the person is a high nobility peer. This attire can be accomplished by white gloves and the Dukes can wear the district's Coronation Ring, depending on the occasion.
Attire B is also a royal suit that can only be worn by high nobility peer, regardless of career. It's used for FORMAL occasions (day or night), and never with a sash. Sashes are used for GALA only. The peers will have medal options, though, and they pick one that suits the occasion or invitation, not necessarily their highest ranked achievement. Duke Jarret Ross of Rossie and Duke Aquess de Cavalier can use "The Baltazar", "High Order of Warriors" or their District Order medal. Duke Victus Saxor of Meadows can use "The Baltazar" or "Rossie District Order", while Baron Bud von Kaching of Gloom can use "The Baltazar", "The National Sprout" or "Gloom District Order". Medals can be worn with most attires.
Attire C is for Coronation Day only. My high nobility dukes and barons get crowned, the latter with a slightly less impressive crown. They mostly use the crown for the ceremony, sometimes also at a following gala dinner. They will use a royal uniform or suit for this event, but all stash will relate to their peerage/district. Duke of Rossie has their own tradition wearing a red jacket uniform. Baron of Gloom is not wearing the sash because it can't be combined with the tie suit, but he wears the Gloom District Order medal instead. Also, while the dukes have their coronation ring, the barons do not. Talking about coronation rings, Duke de Cavalier peerage was introduced much later than Windenburg, Rossie and Meadows, and has a different coronation ring, even carried on the opposite hand. There is a love story explaining this, but we'll save that for some other time.
Attire D is of course for Militarians, only *). Their uniform counts as FORMAL (day or night), and you don't need to be an Officer to show it off. With lower grades you would probably consider B or E instead. The military uniforms are the only attire with a tie that can be topped off with "The High Order of Warriors" if worn as a GALA attire (not common, but can happen. Most likely if a commoner gets knighted for this order). This uniform is often used by the Groom at wedding, and always with white gloves to symbolize peaceful intentions. The gloves are also used when wearing the uniform for GALA event. Hat is only worn outside, but can be worn indoor if saluting is appropriate.
Attire E (with white bow) is the most common GALA attire when A is reserved the host or other prominent guests. Sash and medal will either be your personal choice, your highest ranked, or this might be suggested in the invitation (i.e. honoring the colors of the hosting district's coat of arms or signature flower, etc.). E is also common for sons of the house, who might not yet have a Military career and not a lot of sashes to choose from.
Attire F is for FORMAL events in the day. You can't wear a sash with the morning suit, but a medal is fine (on this specific outfit the medal disappeared behind the collar). Each Peer might have his own favorite color version, making for some variety when these men mingle...
Attire G is worn for CASUAL occasions. Lighter colors in day, darker in night. No sash, but medal is worn by some, depending on occasion.
*) Retired Military Officers will normally not wear D, but can wear A for as long as they hold the peerage. An ex-Duke will normally switch from A to E or B.
There will be a similar article later covering some of the rules for female attire.
