Along my rapid royal journey there are a few major events that deserve attention. In year 198 Queen Evez unexpectedly died, and time had come for eldest son Tarriot Baritom Ruphus Luxe-Hamper to become Monarch. Following protocol the coronation can take place 6 months later, the earliest, and always at Royal Court on Investiture Day (1st day of Winter). The 6 months wait is to allow for any relative to protest, which was more needed in the medieval era when a family tree often involved a surprise or two. These days the line of successors will rarely be subject of debate at all. Anyway - 6 months is also giving time for the palace staff to prepare the big event that the coronation is.
This is also a good occasion for a family portrait. Some attendees naturally longed for the celebrations to follow - a grand banquet followed by mingling in the Chateau Peak salons.
This time the family portrait was limited to the closest family. I arranged similar photos for the wall at previous 2 coronations, and it will be nice looking back on them memorizing sims of the past. Above you see King Tarriot seated on his throne. Next to him stands his father, previous Prince Consort Clempus (I wish I knew what his title will be now that there is no Queen), and Tarriot's younger brother, Prince Blaise (right). The three men to the left is (right to left)
Prince Millam, the Count de Tredony (Tarriot's uncle) and his two sons Prince Jerome and Prince Ace (Tarriot's cousins). Right side (left to right) are
Prince Barris (Tarriot's uncle) with wife Princess Astoria (actually descending from House of Alto) and their two daughters Princess Aleccandria and Princess Hortenzia (Tarriot's cousins). Aleccandria and Hortenzia inherited a certain eccentric attitude from their mother, aiming for acting and fame, known as "the showbiz princesses". They quite often are dressed a bit inappropriately or wearing too heavy make-up. Prince Millam's family resides in Tartosa, while Prince Barris' family resides at Wyvern Hall in Britechester.
After the banquet they all marched over to Grand Salon Queen Evez:

Celebrations continues at Grand Salon Queen Evez. |
I was not sure whether a King would wear the crown after the buffet, but as this hat gets attention only one day per generation (not yet decided whether it will be worn at the annual Royal Courts), I felt it was okay to keep it on at least for a while :) In real life I assume the celebrations might take place after a longer break, perhaps even at different location on different days, with guests dressing up a bit more.
And - I did not bother to bring out all the tiaras and stash as the deco sims would look too boring if I did.

Princess Astoria and Princess Hortenzia did wear their Family Order, though. It counts as regalia but can be used off sash, and tradition is to use it at events that are attended by multiple high nobility houses. It's normally given to female members of House of Luxe-Hamper in their 15th birthday. The tiny portrait of the monarch will change over time, and from now on it will be King Tarriot's portrait. The bow can be adjusted, too, and it is not yet known whether the new monarch will change it. Old bows are not replaced though, so the house's seniors will still show off a former Monarch.
King Tarriot (31) is still single, and he is actually busy with his University degree. At this time there was no speculations on a future Queen.

The first monarch of this new era; King Tybe and Queen Anna, both dead since long. |
Which means the current couple portraits won't face rotation quite yet. The late Queen Evez looked forward to get this yellow portrait out of the room, a pleasure she did not live to see. Besides, who knows what background color the next couple will bring?
