Welcome! :) On this blog you will find stories, how i play and videos created with The Sims 4, but also a few projects from older game versions can be found in the Archive. The old TS3 stories have their own blogs. Most long going stories have a main page with index of updates.

Check out Simmerville's Youtube channel!

I'm no longer on Tumblr! I refused to give all their 3rd parties unlimited access to my computer. Link still works, but no updates.

Rewind: Queen Evez is dead!

I've created a huge family tree for my royal House of Luxe-Hamper. Several existing families got involved in the past, mostly the dukes and counts. The only detail remaining before I can focus on the current royal household, is to say goodbye to the previous Monarch, Queen Evez.

When a central member of the royal household passes, there is created a small oval portrait like pictured above. This portrait decorates the condolence protocol in the Grand Mazaloom Hall, where the public can access without making an appointment. Similar portraits of Queen Evez' parents, King Tybe and Queen Consort Anna  are currently displayed upstairs in the King's Tea Salon.

The flag on the wall shows Queen Evez' Coat of Arms, red is the primary color of House of Luxe-Hamper, and the Lily is the royal heraldic symbol and the kingdom's signature flower. Hm... now I realize there should have been lilies in a vase on that table, my bad... or perhaps they were out of season and hard to find. After all, this death was a sudden shock, Evez was only aged 69 - not even an elder.

Grim Reaper had of course visited the Royal Estate Chateau Peak before, he knows his way although the building is way more decorated these days than at his previous visit.

The official portrait up there on the wall will not get replaced until HRH Crown Prince Tarriot Baritom Ruphus Luxe-Hamper had his coronation. In my universe all sorts of coronations and investitures take place on 1st day of Winter - the official Investiture Day. However, the coronation is merely ritual: King Tarriot will need to tend to daily administrative tasks immediately.

Building a family tree over several generations with minimal playing, involves lots of CAS aging and forced deaths. It's quite horrible at times. In the past I used the UI Cheat mod to set their hunger satisfaction to zero, which caused them to die more or less immediately. Now I got aware of a new (?) option which is "killed by evil bunny". It seems much quicker, not the least it seems like Grim Reaper realizes that nobody will plea for the dead sim, and makes his business quicker. I'm not sure if "killed by evil bunny" is by a mod, or if it was actually added as a cheat (press SHIFT and click sim" with the Cottage Living EP.

After the killing, the evil rabbit escapes through a hole in the ground, LOL. Below is the death of several previous sims, including Princess Astoria who was married to Evez' brother, Prince Barris. It looks like she was not willing to go, and grabbed after the rabbit, but the rabbit was so much faster :)

So, it feels great getting most of those sims who are no longer around out of the way. For the next "Building a Royal Estate" article our guide ought to be someone else than Queen Evez...

PS: Central members of the royal house gets their final rest in the Royal Crypt in the basement. The others will get a grave according to where they resided. Not sure yet if there will be a Luxe-Hamper family grave at The Meadows in San Myshuno.
