King Tarriot addresses equality

(Year 230, Spring) The royal palace has informed the press that there will be a press meeting later this Spring, addressing equality of genders. Now, a press meeting initiated by the royal palace is nothing new, especially not under the current Monarch, in fact there is a short press meeting most Mondays following their 3M (Monday Morning Meeting). But this time it will be addressing a specific subject, which happens to be one of His Royal Majesty King Tarriot's personal heart causes: Equality between genders.

His Majesty did once state that he would never have accepted the position as King of Mazaloom if it was a male only system. To many residents this is an echo from the past, as his grandfather, King Tybe, obviously shared this concern when the royal family was reinstated in Year 150. Back then King Tybe had the constitution adjusted to allow for oldest child to inherit the Crown, regardless of gender.

It remains to see why the king is bringing this up right now. King Tarriot is still young and will probably reign for decades to come, and his oldest child is actually his only daughter, who is elder than her three brothers and who will inherit the Mazaloom crown without any controversies. She will not even be the first female monarch, an we knew ever since the birth of Crown Princess Emireza that she would become Queen Regnant some day. So, this has to be addressing something else than succession within the royal house.

Queen Evez, female Monarch Year 179-198.

Or could it be about the castle staff? It seems like the genders already do balance quite well, though, Royal Chief Attendant (head of staff) is female, while Head Maid is male.

The recently elected President is male. Out of the past 11 presidents (since the Year 120 constitution) there was only one female. Could that be the thing, an encouragement to the political parties to rank females higher? At the recent election both LEFT and RIGHT originally had male President candidates. However, it was a female becoming LEFT's Vice President. Still - could this be a concern of King Tarriot's?

There's no point in further speculation at this point, as the possibilities seem vague - but endless.

The announced press meeting will take place next week.
