(Year 233, Spring) Last year the Artist Guild worked closely with Ministry of Culture and Entertainment with several projects focusing on more transparency in he many businesses relating to showbiz.
Plumbob Pictures and Simmerville Studio with four talent agencies will release their detailed page this Summer, and in Fall we'll finally pay attention to the Musicians.
Here and now: First out is the new book publishing company, Moon Books, Inc. Moon Books was initiated by global star and Author, Octavia Moon. Recently Moon Books moved in at Orchid A Go Go in Del Sol Valley, reported here.
Now that the web page is online, we can all learn more about this company and its services. The most interesting, perhaps aside of some pictures of well known stars, is the annual Top 10 Bestsellers list, as well as a list of Authors who signed with Moon Books. Some names are well established writers, while other names seem rather new.
The Top 10 Bestsellers for Year 232 was official last weel, and it shows that Moon Books is actully in with several titles that were published late in the year. Some are Octavia Moon's own books, a few older titles now given a new boost, and we also find new Authors like Salim Benali (poems, «Moo - Daydream of a Cow») reaching #2. That's indeed a great achievement for a newcomer!
The webpages are meant to spread information on how this business is run, by informing on who are the actual owners, what is the company's strategy and deal with those signing. It will be easier to navigate for Authors, too! Being signed either as a Writer, Actor or Musician normally brings you some bonus pay if you reach the annual Top 10 list.
All pages will also have their own news section, mostly being updated every season. These news will also be published in our newspaper, Mazaloom Times (will be integrated later this year, probably Summer).
Manager Octavia Moon (52) thinks the new rules are fine.
- We are new, and to Moon Books it is only positive to release some info. We like to reach out to readers as well as writers, and our new webpage will help us with that. It will make more Writers and Readers aware of our events and services. We can't wait to make the news section busy!
The other companies will follow this Summer and Fall.
