(Year 233, Spring) It's quite the happening when a new community service opens in StrangerVille. Nobody can actually tell you when the existing community lots opened, it feels like the library and the bar have been there since forever. So, when Mr Ted Rossell announced that a new Climbing Wall Gym was under construction up at Shady Acres, everyone - infected or not - paid attention. Yesterday it was finally time for the opening!
Mr Ted Rossell Mester Acres (74) and his wife, Meredith (Woll) Rossell (62) were both present, and so was politician Roger Mistfield (68), founder of the new WORLD party. He is a Chestnut Ridge resident, same region as StrangerVille.
- We are grateful to finally have a Climbing Wall Gym in region Advorton, he stated. - As far as I kmow, this is the only outdoor climbing wall in southern part of Mazaloom. And I am excited to be the first person to climb it - in a few minutes!
Ted Rossell is known as a semi-politician, too. Previously StrangerVille was administrated as a hood (annexe) under Oasis Springs, and Rossell was the appointed Hood Contact. He was never elected, and there were hardly any local rivals. He hails from a family that owned all lots at Shady Acres, and Ted Rossell inherited all the land but one lot that his late mother sold out of the family. Rossell also worked in Science and Law Enforcement. No wonder he has been enjoying the status of a local boss.
- I'm an elder now, he says. - I'm disappointed that I got this old before StrangerVille got district status, as I will be too old for the upcoming election. Perhaps my beautiful wife can run for those region positions.
Meredith smiled and giggled. - Sure. None of them are profiled members of any political party, yet.
- By opening this new service I surely show that I care about our community. The renter will agree, I'm sure! But, we are here today for the grand opening of my new Climbing Wall Gym! Let's take a look around!
The lot offers regular equipment for the standard work out sessions, of course! This might be adjusted eventually, We offer showers, and also fruit refreshments that can be bought from a crate.
Upstairs there is a nice lounge, perfect for relaxment and maybe a little celebration.
On the roof terrace there is a jaccuzzi. Both the lounge and the terracce can only be accessed vis the climbing wall, there are no other way up!
Outside there are also a few activities intended for family members who are not old enough for the other stuff, or just not interested in the work out and climbing. The water slide is currently the only water slide in StrangerVille!
- I love it!, Roger Mistfield screams as he slides by in a posing positure. - Fit for youngsters, well fit for me as I warm up to my very first climbing session!
Shortly after, it was time to open the climbing wall. While the other attendees stayed inside working out, Ted Rossell proudly invited Roger Mistfield to be the first climber.
And he did well enough, especially for a newbie. Up there we can certainly see the entrance to that lounge and the ladder up to the terrace.
