(Year 233, Spring) Some time ago we learned that an old man of the Flock People was found, and that Landgraab Science Lab wanted to secure the Flock People by creating a science baby based on the Flock DNA. They needed a volunteer to carry the unborn baby, a challenge that Edith Mox grabbed without hesitation.
And now Dr. Alexander Goth confirms that the project is successful this far, and Mox is indeed pregnant.
The birth is expected in Fall this year, so we must still wait a while.
Edith Mox (47) is the primus motor of the
Flock People Memorial Day committee, recently arranging the 100th Anniversery with a small festival at Willow Field in Gloomville, where she resides with husband and two children.
- Edith Mox was the perfect match, as she is in the 25% group of women who are extra fertile - meaning pushing 50 is not an issue, says Dr. Goth. - I believe the project is safe with a mature mother, but we have DNA back-up in case we need it. This project might grow beyond this single pregnancy, but we must take one step at the time. Later this year we might know more.
Dr. Goth and Edith Mox met the press outside the Mox residence at Willow Field. Edith Mox works with flower arrangements that she sells from a small shop at home.
- We, the Flock People committee, are so excited! For hundred years the Flock People was only a myth, and here I am, carrying their baby! It's hard to understand! I am prepared to raise the child, too. I'm hoping it will be approved by Landgraab Science Lab, as this hood is actually the hood where the Flock People tradition stands the strongest! Right behind my house is the field where the willow forest used to be, and where the Flock People used to live until they were chased and had to escape. It will be the perfect place for this baby to be raised.
It is now expected that the Ministery of Science & Education will get involved with the project. But before that, Dr. Goth will give a speech on the subject "the Flock People baby" at Moon Books' venue in Del Sol Valley. Indirectly this might hint that a book on the subject will be released shortly.
