Also Miranda liked gardening, and would often help. She wasn't very skilled yet, but eager to learn.
- So you just took a piece of one plant and added it to another one? Will the new plant produce both fruits, or what?
- I'm not sure, Ochana said. - It didn't produce any crops yet, it's too early to know.
- Besides, I kinda forgot to make notes, I'm not sure what plants I mixed! she smiled.
- Oh, you must take notes, mom! Miranda said.
Today Ochana had planned for them all to visit Ona Rosewood and her family at Oasis Springs. It was quite a trip, and Chad had to work so he could not join them at all.
- Ah, we arrived safely! Ochana said as they stood in front of the Rosewood home. The house was not as big as Ochana's Glee Abode, but more modern.
- I just have to take a selfie in front of this house, Edith said. She's the one wearing a short floral dress.
- Just my thought, too! Miranda added. They were twins, and they often did the same thing without planning it.
Ona Rosewood welcomed them inside. She was a little older but still wore her long yellow gloves with pride. Perhaps she wore those old clothes just to honor the occasion, as if Ochana cared. Those days of the Sims by Numbers show where Ochana and Ona shared room, and came top 2 - it was so long ago!
- Josue, tell them about the tomatos, will you! Ona said, looking quite eager.
- Of course, there is a nice picnic spot where they grow a few tomatos. I'm not sure if they are ready to be harvested, but it would be a nice place to visit anyway.
So, off they went, everyone but Ona's two kids.
The public picnic area was much smaller than the large park, and there were hardly any green plants.
While Joshue discussed tomatos with Ochana and Miranda, Edith walked over to the grill to make them some food. Nothing had been served at the Rosewood house, and Edith was hungry!
And so were the others. To Ochana's surprise neither Ona nor Joshue wanted to join the picnic, but left. Miranda didn't mind at all to sit alone, while the other 4 talked and joked over Edith's veggie burgers.
- Mom, why don't we go this far from home more often? It's exciting to see something new!
- Did I tell you that a girl in class went to SimCity last weekend?
- Oh, we really can't afford that, Edith. Vacations are expensive, Ochana explained. A picnic like this is good, though...
Then a mature woman walked in. It was a public place after all, but Ochana recognized her!
- Fiona Robberton! What a nice surprise, I've not seen you in ages!
- Ochana! Is that you? Oh, my!
Fiona got seated with Miranda, who wasn't really that interested in a foreigner's smalltalk.
- I wonder if we will get rain? Fiona Robberton said. - My garden is very dry.
- Sigh, Miranda sighed.
- I run a small bed & breakfast right over there. It's a tiny hotel actually, guests get their very own room with a bathroom, and can stay as long as they like. I cook the food.
- Oh, and? Miranda asked.
- Well, maybe I could need some assistance, if you wouldn't mind cleaning beds and showers, that is, Fiona suggested.
Then Ochana joined them.
- Do you ever hear from the other Sims by Numbers Show contestants? Toby, Fabian, Sissela, Otto, Quatore? We just visited Ona Rosewood, she lives not far from here.
- Toby Twoller and Fabian Rumple lives near by, too, Fiona said. And Quatore and Otto - oh, and Sissela, so yes, I run into them all every now and then.
- Any kids yet, Fiona? I see you already met one of mine... the other 3 are at the other table.
- What, said Fiona. - She is your mom? Oh, I had no idea!
- Yes, she is my mom, and we are here to pick tomatos! Miranda explained. The conversation turned a bit awkward.
So, while Ochana and Fiona talked more, Miranda ran over to some plants, and there - tomatos ready to be harvested!
- Wow, come here! she said and stuffed her pockets. It was the seeds she wanted, not the food.
Over the next days, Ochana spent more time in the secret office. She had put down more notes, but she knew she had to talk more with locals. Especially about the past of the Oaksdale family at Willow Farm.
Maybe she should talk Agaton Oaksdale's wife Sonia into helping? Sonia had studied history, and might be able to find some facts that Ochana would not make on her own. At least they should be able to find out whether this Edwin man was an Oaksdal or not.
