Yuma Heights is owned by the Verde peerage Trust, which is 100% owned by Baron of Verde. |
Court has already confirmed that Jarret Ross was incorrectly instated as Baron of Verde.
It's been more than 50 years since the death of Javiar von Donnersmalt, so if this was the only action to concern, this case would have been too old to reopen. But the current Baron, Jarret Ross, was only a little boy (3 years old) back then, and he was not crowned Baron of Verde until he turned 25 years old, in Year 195. That is 29 years ago, meaning the case is not yet sealed (something that happens after 40 years).

Jarret Ross has now accepted the facts, and is willing to give up the Verde peerage, but is of course not seen as guilty. His lawyer, Anita v.D. Ferny will claim that he gets compensated, either by the Verde Trust, or from any part that will be found guilty of poor work (ie Region 12 Council or the Royal Chamber).
Jarret Ross' lawyer, Anita (von Donnersmalt) Ferny claimed compensation on behalf of her client. |
However, total chaos emerged when Ferny also claimed that neither Malcolm Landgraab is a legit successor to the Verde peerage! She explained how his late father, Geoffrey von Donnersmalt, Lord Cacti, was born outside marriage - in fact his father was never officially known. The fact that Geoffrey even inherited the Cacti title might be questionable, but is more than 40 years ago, and there was no other successors anyway. Nobility laws claim that successors must be born within a marriage.
Landgraab got furious when this fact was revealed, and marched out from the Court House, hissing at the journalists.
The Court has now requested assistance from the Royal Chamber to find the correct line of successors to the Barony of Verde. This will be debated in the final chapter of this trial, taking place next week.
