Welcome! :) On this blog you will find stories, how i play and videos created with The Sims 4, but also a few projects from older game versions can be found in the Archive. The old TS3 stories have their own blogs. Most long going stories have a main page with index of updates.

Check out Simmerville's Youtube channel!

I'm no longer on Tumblr! I refused to give all their 3rd parties unlimited access to my computer. Link still works, but no updates.

Paranormal #1 - Cats, kids and Bonehilda

(Year 226) Mega picture post! I grabbed the new Paranormal stuff pack, and although there isn't all that much to do until your sim builds some Medium skill, I had a blast getting started!

This is no pack review, I just want to share some pics and stories from my game. I added #1 to the title as I can imagine there will be more paranormal picture posts later on. I play rotationally, meaning I hardly ever get to dive deep into any pack before there is a new pack, and yet another pack. With the Paranormal stuff pack it will be different, because the most interesting stuff takes place during sleeping hours, meaning I can jump over to the haunted houses between playing other houses. It should at least be possible to build the Medium skill rather fast, and from there it will be is possible to start the brand new career, Paranormal Investigator, which requires 5 skill points (unless you spend tons of aspiration points to get the needed certificate).

So, in this post we'll stop by 2 haunted houses - one poor and one wealthy.

Schwaini Family

- Streamlet single, Muggerdale in Gloomville

So, this family of four resides a rather tiny rented house. Rambo Schwaini inherited it from his parents, who had the house all along since my start in 2014. They made a living from small crimes and black magic, although I had to pretend most of the latter. It's the only house that collected all the sculls during the Day of the dead challenge.

The house is probably the most worn building in my entire game. It's off the grid and in serious need of some renovation. No wonder I knew this one had to be haunted...

Rambo married, and they have two kids and 3 adult cats. I know the bright interior might not fit the bill perfectly, but at least they only have candle lighting. The scull collection is unique for my region, and there are a few more items in the kid's room.

Cheyenne enjoyed taking up the heritage from her hubby's mother, the late Corinne Schwaini. She started carefully at the séance table, and I cheated her skill to level 2, just to have some more action. Shortly the first specter visited, and Cheyenne managed to communicate a bit, being rewarded a lasting playful emotion - and a purple glow which I'm not so happy about because it will stick for hours and look bad in videos, but hey-ho.

The three cats appeared, and so did an occult marking n the kitchen floor... it really scared Cheyenne a lot, and I didn't want to push her into interacting with it on her first night.

The cat Splash didn't mind investigating the marking though :) Also the cat on floor in background seems to interact with something, possibly the green specter. At this point Cheyenne had some sort of a mental breakdown. Hubby at work robbing someone or something, kids were asleep. The weather was terrible, the ongoing heavy thunderstorm was perfect.

So, when I noticed Cheyenne could host a group séance already at skill level 2, she commended the kids to join her :) I checked afterwards, and they earned themselves their fist Medium skill! One of them will of course bring on this practice. Maybe both will join the Club Beyond Senses once they become teens.

My goal is that Cheyenne will join the Paranormal Investigator career eventually. Not necessarily to help people, but perhaps she can steal one or two things once she gets access to richer homes...

Wixx Family
- Wixx Estate, Mua Pel'am in Sulani

Far away from Gloomville is the paradise of Sulani. Their culture already with a touch of folklore magic, including the Island Spirits that I have not yet explored fully. The Wixx household is rather new in my game, but their story is long and detailed. I knew right away that their estate had to be haunted, it all fits so well with their backstory.

Today Lavendula Wixx is the one into the Medium skill. I cheated her skill level to 3 (of 5) because she has actually been doing this for many years already. The house is the biggest in Sulani, and head of the family, Professor Mandrake Wixx, has taken over the role that the island Chieftain used to have. Their estate is built at Admiral's Wreckage, but the old shipwreck is sill intact. Lavendula's mother, Francine, was the first to arrange for group séances down there in the bottom of the wreck. They also let the ship as lodging to renting tourists, and some of them also get invited to join Lavendula at the round table.

The late Francine (Ville) Wixx is said to have a past as a Glimmerbrook witch, before she mysteriously arrived Sulani and married Professor Lothar Wixx long ago. You can read more about my take on the past of Sulani. Below is Francine's infamous painted portrait. She was envious at the Chieftain's Villa being visited by Island Spirits, but when she tried to use magic to lure those spirits over to Wixx Estate, it all backfired and the estate got infested with rather bad specters instead. Locals said it was because the Taz (their volcano god) was disturbed and offended by the building - Lothar Wixx had indeed been warned!

This is the current household celebrating Francille's young adult birthday. Lavendula (left) and Mandrake (right) are the children of late Francine and Lothar. In fact, Mandrake is now head of this household. His wife disappeared when the two children Rallar and Francille were young. Lavendula has stayed to serve them, like the local tradition is to provide unmarried females.

Well, she enjoys residing Wixx Estate, but not so much working as the housekeeper. She did not experience any major event during this first night. She summoned Bonehilda though, and that is for sure a major benefit :)

The flirty long gone maid looked around a bit, then she ran off...

It was quite fun following her. Would she head for the beach? Bonedipping in the pool? Wake up and scare the household?

Well... she entered the main building and grabbed a glass of water to sit down in the main hall to watch the son of the house with a flirty giggle on her rock hard face. Rallar is still a teenager, I guess you should rather focus on your own generation, Bonehilda!

I checked the floor under her chair, but no water. Oh... the rug probably lead the water farther out on the floor.

Bonehilda mopped the floor. I think Lavendula might summon on her regularly, because anything Bonehilda will steady or clean, Lavendula will not need to take care of. With this nightly servant, housekeeping will be less time consuming.

No wonder they got on so well already. It's obviously a win-win relation.

Basically I think the paranormal theme goes very well with the Sulani vibe. My plan for Lavendula is to max the Medium skill, and to keep the negative specters on hold. She might be more into herbs than paranormal stuff, though, so the PI career might be a bit too much for her. But never say never...

That's all for now. There is one more haunted house in my game - Tulsy Cracrow in the Rossie district is the leader of a very exclusive club. Also, Rambo Schwaini's daughter Sculla Schwaini in San Myshuno tries to benefit from fake séances, and there is the mentioned teen club, Club Beyond Senses, which actually explains an old ts4 mystery. More paranormal posts to follow :)

  1. Great update as usual! I really like your spooky version of the Streamlet Single lot in Muggerdale too. :)

    1. Hello! Thanks, I always enjoyed the Schwaini household and everything filthy and shady suited them quite well. Sister of the current head Rambo cut contact with them and lives in a San Myshuno flat with her secret alien daughter, she now offers fake clairvoyant consultations, the séance table will be perfect for her, too :)
