Barony of Crest not to be revitalized

(Court House, San Myshuno) Region 12 Court House has concluded that the old peerage, Barony of Crest, is not to be reactivated. Royal Chamber was found guilty of handing the peerage to the House of Panter despite there being a young heir of House of Roxenfox, who actually held this peerage, but the case is very old and will not be reactivated.

This case was brought to court by Old-Duchess Claudine (Roxenfox) de Cavalier (pictured wearing red coat), on behalf of House of Roxenfox that is still residing the old Roxenfox Manor at Old Crest in Newcrest. Head of house is Hector Roxenfox (73), with wife Nancy (Dougham) Roxenfox and their daughter Bonita Roxenfox (31). They are to get paid a small compensation of §25 000.

The Old-Duchess de Cavalier was not herself part of the case, but it's worth mentioning that her sons would be number 2 and 3 in line of successors if the peerage was to be reactivated. Lawyer Anita Ferny stated that the case was interesting because the mistake done is easily proven, but the question was whether it is too old to be opened.

Gloria and Claudine are sisters and Roxenfox is their maden name.

The main reason the Crest barony was not reopened, is that the case is too old. But court also concluded that the old high nobility peerages have less impact thesedays, and community is no lomnger benefiting enough from expanding on the old system.

Following this outcome, there is no real nobility in Newcrest. Only House of Dougham holds a noble title, Lady Crestville, which is not really a peerage but just a title. Newcrest is the only district where the old District Order is no longer operative. Corinne Dougham, Lady Crestville, has suggested that her title should be upgraded to a high nobility barony, in order to get Newcrest on the same noble level as the other districts, but both the Royal Chamber and the jury turned down this suggestion.

- It's stil a shame, said a very disappointed Old-Duchess as she left the Court House. - Well, at least we tried bringing back justice!
