Welcome! :) On this blog you will find stories, how i play and videos created with The Sims 4, but also a few projects from older game versions can be found in the Archive. The old TS3 stories have their own blogs. Most long going stories have a main page with index of updates.

Check out Simmerville's Youtube channel!

I'm no longer on Tumblr! I refused to give all their 3rd parties unlimited access to my computer. Link still works, but no updates.

A Man for his Ties (Free download)

July 2022: Downloading from this blogger post no longer works, so please head over to a new page listing all my TS4  custom content. All free. DOWNLOADS

(Year 228) Well, let me just say that we need more casual suit jackets, but that did not stop me from creating some more variety to one of Maxis' formal jackets as well. Because, there is a new guy in my Region 12, Fritz Mervil and he is not unfamiliar with mixing formal with the casual.

So, while this is basically about a free download, I'll also introduce you to Fritz. He has been and will be quite central in several aspects...

First off - his lastname Mervil has no direct connection to the title of this blog. My communities have been named Simmerville ever since The Sims 1, and I just read an article online (that I wrote myself a couple of decades ago) to learn the fact that Simmerville actually was based on one of my TS2 families, the Mervils. I don't even want to try to find this man's genealogical tie to the old Mervil clan - they were the bad guys back then. Anyway, now Mervil is back!

Most of these years I created videos and other content as Simmerville Studios (rewind: here's the TS2 site!). So, to make the story short; Fritz' late father, Garfield Mervil, was the founder of Simmerville Studios. He still owned 60% of the company when he died few years ago. That's when Fritz Mervil took a few steps up!

Aged 26 Fritz Mervil started working as a Model in San Myshuno, at 30 he started an Actor career and he actually had a few minor parts in movies produced by Simmerville Studio. However, Fritz and his father never directed any video, their studio always hired Directors, and being the main owner's son is not good enough when a Director is looking for top Actors for an upcoming production.

Today Fritz Mervil (36) holds 60% of the shares in Simmerville Studios, Inc. Another 15% is held by Judith Ward - her second husband, the Director Severin Ward, was a minor co-founder back when Simmerville Studios was founded. The 3rd board member is Ludolph Roll (not played).

Simmerville Studios is located in Gloomville, and the building is housing various studios for TV-show sets and smaller movie locations that don't exist for real. One wall might be a Police office on one side, and the Reg12 NEWS desk on the other side. It's quite fun to walk the huge rooms to look at previous and current set ups. Other floors contain offices, costume and make-up, storage rooms and on ground floor there is a public café where the celebrities might be spotted eating their lunch.

Fritz Mervil ditched his Acting career when he became the CEO of Simmerville Studios and decided to rather focus on Business. But he still very much enjoys publicity and accepted to do the modelling for these new ties with no hesitation. We might even see him in a video at one point ;)

The ties come with 8 new versions, but only for the black jacket. Created for the man who don't feel like hiding in his dark suit.
Category: Top/Suit jacket

  1. I recognised the name from your old Mervil Market which is where I was first introduced to the farm, fishing and crafting rights system. Great to see recurring family names make their way into your new households. Great suits too; good variety.

    1. Wow, you recall Mervil Market?!!! I hardly recall it myself, but as you mention it, yupp, I think that was about when my farmers got better organized. I remember they delivered their produce packed in crates, thanks to some brilliant CC. Now, I wonder if I have any old pictures in those old archives, first I must remember where I lost my archives, though, LOL. Just saw that the ts2 site is not fully functional as articles are no longer showing... Thanks for your comment!
