Evergreen Harbor - New Direction

(Year 227, Evergreen Harbor) Here comes a delayed report from last Fall's 10 years anniversary for the green revolution that is still taking place at Evergreen Harbor. Back then the 3 maker markets were founded, some of them still in development.

This minor anniversary was on the calendar of the Barony of Gloom. The soon to be crowned, The Honorable Edward von Kaching and his fresh wife, Lady Merielle, spent nearly a full day in Evergreen Harbor. The pregnant Lady Merielle worried a bit for the pollution, but went on with the program. Edward's elderly aunt, Paula Ching Lady Mugger, insisted on joining them despite never officially representing the barony.

The little group was guided by Francine G. Spencer - daughter of one of those industrial pioneers, Collin Grims who founded Grims Quarry, but today among the most eager revolutionists. Edward and Merielle's visit was on a very smoggy day, and along the echo from noisy riots they were to see rusty remainders of the long gone industrial era.

Evergreen Harbor is part of the Gloom district, but was neglected as the industry toned down and workers moved elsewhere some decades ago. With the recent Eco awakening also comes political concerns. Evergreen Harbor residents have or a while been claiming to have their own Hood Contact election, who shall be considered for the Gloom District's Councilor on same level as Upperton, Willow Field and Muggerdale. Next election is in only 2 years and candidates are already forming, especially from the MIDDLE party.

Hon. Edward and Lady Merielle were then taken to the local administration center, which is a room at the old train station near the harbor. Francine G. Spencer informed them how the locals meet to plan the further development, and with a growing population there are numerous administrative challenges already.

This room also serves as the MIDDLE party's head quarter, although also the LEFT party and RIGHT party are of course welcome to join and debate the environment friendly Neighborhood Action Plans.

But what happened to the elderly aunt Paula?

Right - they found her seated in the station bar enjoying her favorite nectar! It's well known that Lady Mugger is a little too fond of this kind of activity, something she never admitted herself. She moved to the Bon Voyage Retirement Home, next to the Gloom Barony's main estate «Umbrage Manor», and mean tongues quickly stated that it happens to be the kingdom's only retirement home providing a bar.

Tina Tinker at Conifer Station is expected to run for the first Hood Contact of Evergreen Harbor.

The group also got to see the recent changes at Conifer Station and Grims' Quarry. Each of these three hoods are said to have political candidates, but according to traditions they will not be published until the year before the election - next year! Because of the small population, the entire Evergreen Harbor is likely to get just one Hood Contact, but all 3 hoods want to be heard.
