(Year 230, Summer) First day of Spring we saw the election for the coming 5 years period, and this week the traditional portrait photo of the new Region 12 Council was presented! Mazaloom kingdom consists of 8 regions, each with their own regional council, but as Region 12 is the largest - both regarding geography and population - and still my main region, I focus on this region's council, only.
This is the forth portrait on the Council Hall wall and it was presented by Mayor Dougham during a very brief ceremony where mainly the regional press was invited. All five Reg 12 Councilors attended and afterwards each of them were available for the press for 1 hour.
Fanny Silverbone (70): Brindleton Bay Councilor, assisting the Trades & Taxes dept. Residing at Sable Square with husband George and 2 children. Their farm is among the largest in this region. Silverbone no longer breeds dogs for sale, but the household kept 3 large dogs and a cat, in addition to 2 cows and a chicken coop. Her political career includes leading the Health & Welfare dept., and now the Trades & Taxes dept. She is LEFT party's new leader, and Vice President of the People Chamber.
Otto Vittingham (67): San Myshuno Councilor, assisting the Culture & Entertainment dept.. He resides at Meadows in San Myshuno, and is single. Vittingham is an experienced politician, being on RIGHT party's core group since Year 220. He is now in his first period in the Law & Justice dept. of the People Chamber.Charlotta Mu. Crumpleton (63): Gloomville Councilor, assisting the Science & Education dept. Crumpleton resides at Upperton in Gloomville with husband Gustav and their twin sons, and two cats inherited from her late mother. Crumpleton is head of a House with a long history, and she is sister of Mayor Dougham. 5 years ago she joined RIGHT party's core group and became Gloomville Councilor with focus on Science & Education. The same year she got a seat in the People Chamber, serving the Science & Education dept., this year switching to the Health & Welfare dept.
During this period a regional reform is likely, so perhaps it's a good time to move that focus to the People Chamber instead of the regional council(s). After all, the regional councils function more as administrational centers, assisting the People Chamber, they can't decide much on their own. Their political success, both individual and party vise is in getting a seat in the Chamber.
