Investiture Day Year 230 - 3 Peers and 3 Knights

(Year 230, Winter) The annual royal court took place on Investiture Day, which is always 1st day of Winter. This year there were a total of 3 Peers and 3 Knights waiting to feel the weight of that sword on their shoulder. Peers obtain their inherited Peerage the minute they step up, but at royal court they get blessed as a Peer of the large Mazaloom peerage, and they get formally introduced to the aristocracy.

A few familiar faces: HRH Crown Princess Emireza, HRH Queen Venezia,
Duchess Ribra Lynn of Rossie, and more.

The Throne Room was packed with proud family members, the royal family and members of The Royal Chamber, who is oficially hosting this event. As this event always takes place during the day, attendees do dress up but gala is not an issue. They save their tiaras and decorated outfit for the Investiture Day Gala Banquet taking place in the evening. All honorees are invited here with up to two family members.

This year there were announced 3 coronations of Peers within the large peerage, followed by 3 Knights of misc. Orders. His Majesty King Tarriot entered the stage while the national hymn was played. The event is normally executed by him, but thee have been two occasions where Queen Venezia stepped in.

First Peer was the 1st Count von Dresden, Dominic Fyres (81). His county is brand new (letter patent #85), and the result of many meetings with King Tarriot's office. House of Fyres used to have 3 "lorsdships" including Deadgrass, all created about 200 years ago. Because baronies are meant to be the kingdom's lowest ranked peerage, this was dealt with last year, with Deadgrass going extinct.

Dominic Fyres have been part of the aristocracy for a lifetime, but this is the highest ranked title he ever had. He will now be known as Count Dominic von Dresden, Baron von Haunt. He has a young son, and 3 daughters including Baroness Morgan of Verde.

Next called to stage was Helfert Wizar de Gould (46), 5th Count of Ticktop. He is the highest ranked Peer of Region 8, and his father passed last year.

Because any investiture must be announced minimum half a year in advance, even when the successor is quite logical, Count Helfert was introduced nearly a year after he took over his county. His wife, Countess Elisabeth, was in the audience. They have 2 sons, still children and not allowed to attend royal court.

Last Peer was King Tarriot's half sister, Amalia Ellice Luxe-Hamper Hoffstar (29). The King has granted her the Barony de Vert (patent letter #44), a brand new title with a special challenge to her descendants: the successor will need to have green eyes like herself.

Amalia had been promised a title since long, but she had to establish her House of Hoffstar first, which requires a legit heir. The son was born this Fall, unfortunately not with green eyes...
Amalia is now known as Baroness Amalia de Vert.

This was the first royal court after the Throne Room was slightly renovated last Winter. Front row includes 4 seats reserved the royal family, and 4 seats reserved members of The Royal Chamber.

Royal family was well represented this year: Prince Marcus (15), Prince Bazillimus (17),
Crown Princess Emireza (19) and HRH Queen Venezia ().

The royal house will not always fill all of those 4 seats, but this year 3 of the 4 children were able to attend, taking a quick swing home from their boarding schools.

Among the many well known faces were a few who probably were feeling extra proud.

Moira R. Fyres (76), in Windenburg known as Lady von Dresden, will now use the title Countess von Dresden. She has previously been knighted for the Order of the Golden Lion.

Although there is a certain dress code at these events, some did not quite obey...

Celebrity Susy "Sushi" Stench (40), the popular pop singer who married Prince Ace earlier this year, showed up wearing the shortest dress of them all. Not quite appropriate, and probably not very practical on 1st day of Winter, either. Her husband, Prince Ace, was there to be knighted for the Meadows District Order.

Some posing is obligatory. No press is allowed, but the palace will always make sure to hire a Photographer.

There were also knighting for various orders: Duke Jarret of Rossie (60) was knighted for The Highest Royal Order, meaning he is now a member of The Royal Chamber. Prince Royal Blaise (59) was knighted for the High Order of the Golden Lion for his lasting work for oversea trades especially involving San Myshuno and Tredony (Region 3). And, Prince Ace Baron de Portefino (53) was knighted for the Meadows District Order.
