(Year 232, Spring) The Mazaloom-Snorthia conflict, also known as the "Moon Liza conflict", has been ongoing for more than a year already. It makes communication between the two nations very challenging, and this week Gran Marshal Robert Calves initiated a meeting including HRM King Tarriot and President Rob Wilder. The conflict was frozen for a while, which might make this a good moment for attempting to debate good solutions.

The three Mazaloom leaders met at Calves office at Old Penelope Military Base in StrangerVille. They agreed not to bring any secretaries or other staff, making it easier to discuss freely. This first step will not lead to any big decisions, but might pave the ground for future possibilities.
While Mazaloom kingdom never did add to the conflict, Empire of Snorthia did already boycott Mazaloomian partisipation at the latest Winter Sports arrangement, mainly harming national Athletes. Even worse, the Emperor has announced that Mazaloomians in general are no longer welcome to use their Winter Sports fascilities in Mt. Komorebi. You will not be locked out if you decide to go, but one should expect less friendliness. Our Law & Justice Dept. advise Mazaloomins to stay away, or at least go there only for day visits.
It all started by the Royal Palace Office's Royal Chief Attendant, Ms. Patricia Maiden, revealing that Snorthia's national treasure, the mysterial painting named "Moon Liza" was actually portraying her late mother. From there the snowball started rolling, and Maiden discovered that she was distantly related to the royal family of Sea kingdom. The Emperor of Snorthia stated that his empire had been deeply offended, and has not been willing to communicate at all ever since.

Mazaloom and Snorthia are sharing a long border. Calves is not expecting a military attack, but there might be secret strategies formed in Snorthia that will not exactly benefit Mazaloom. Districts near the border should not be more exposed for this, as Snorthia is obviously critizising the nation of Mazaloom, intending to harm our culture rather than local regions.
Let's just hope that we will learn about them before they hit us!
