New University Term at Mossy Lane

(Year 232, Fall) Fall means the start of another term for university students, and in Britechester, both dorms and public spaces become busy these days! At the private dorm, Mossy Lane Dorm, a group of 5 young adults prepares for the new term. The current group includes a Baron and a Lady, but all 5 are actually children of Aristocracy.

Located at Gibbs Hill (Region 2 Rossie), the dorm serves both Britechester University (U-Brite) and Foxbury Institute (Fox). There are two nicer suits intended for students from top of society, meaning children of the 5 dukedoms, or even of the counties and baronies if vacant. Those suites are rented for the double cost, which will normally sum up to §8,000 for all 4 terms - and that is not including school fees!

 

Gossips #13

(Year 232, Summer) This social season was packed with events and your wait is over: I'm back to serve you the gossips, and this time it's a pretty lengthy read! Welcome to my 13th edition! Let's hope the number brings good luck to everyone involved!

Animals must be correctly named

(Year 232, Summer) You might have seen a foreign mini goat and wondered where it belongs? Many of us have. They might appear on your ranch, in your back court, or maybe by the photo booth outside the local recreation center. There might be a name tag telling its name, but not any last name giving a hint on who are the owners.

The Health & Welfare dept. has now received too many complaints to ignore this problem. Therefore, from next year it will be obligatory to include the owner's family name on that tag!

Sim WORLD Party claims CC control

(Year 232, Summer) Next election is still 2.5 years ahead, but the 4 political parties are already busy  preparing the ground. The bigger activity might be with the new Sim WORLD Party, facing their very first election ever. The party's leader, Roger Mistfield, now has news for anyone wanting a better world!

- We, the Sim WORLD party, work for a stronger and more successful international community, including better relations to our neighbors. We applaud the imported CC (custom content), but this also calls for a better system to control what we import!

So, how would that work?

- If Sim WORLD party gains enoough seats at People Chamber, we will do our best to not only quality check all content that was already imported, but also to consider removing stuff that we have too many versions of. Say there was imported flowers in a vase years ago, and recent packs added tons of more flowers in vases, then we want a routine for examining those version in order to get rid of CC that is no longer needed. The better stuff is to keep, anything else to go.

Exhibition: My Estate is my Palace

(Year 232, Summer) We already heard about the adjustments of the large peerage, where 12 high nobility peers were reduced to 8. A final confirmation of these changes is expected this Fall. The Royal Chamber, which is overseeing the large peerage as well as initiating these changes, now wants to focus more on the 8 high nobility peers that are still considered high nobility. And why not do so through a mini exhibition?

This weekend the exhibition «My Estate is my Palace» opened at the Casbah Gallery at Arts Quarter in San Myshuno.

Jewelry by Madam Maxim at Gallery Ex-Po

(Year 232, Summer) This Summer Jewelry had a new Spring. All over the kingdom residents wanted a piece of what was on offer. The reason for all the attention was probably a mix of a few Crystal Crafter, and some headlines regarding the Politician's urge to regulate this business. More about the latter further down.

First we will bring a brief report from a new jewelry sale that opened this week at Gallery Ex-Po in Newcrest. They are known for assisting the aristocracy finding new owners to old heirlooms. When you want to sell something, Gallery Ex-Po will buy it, this way you will get paid immediately even when it takes a while to find a new owner. The jewelry is different, though.

People Chamber - Health & Welfare Department

(Year 232, Summer) This is the fourth part of brief introductions to the 5 departments of People Chamber. They are Law & Justice, Trades & Taxes, Culture & Entertainment, Health & Welfare, and finally Science & Education. Each department has 1 Minister joined by 3 or 4 members. Here is the current Health & Welfare dept.!

This dept. has a total of 4 members including the Minister. Their main focus is the practical aspects of medical care, and welfare. This also includes sports and food/health aspects of certain businesses, such as restaurants/bars and hotels. In addition they oversee population's demographics including Residents Registry updates.
