People Chamber - Health & Welfare Department

(Year 232, Summer) This is the fourth part of brief introductions to the 5 departments of People Chamber. They are Law & Justice, Trades & Taxes, Culture & Entertainment, Health & Welfare, and finally Science & Education. Each department has 1 Minister joined by 3 or 4 members. Here is the current Health & Welfare dept.!

This dept. has a total of 4 members including the Minister. Their main focus is the practical aspects of medical care, and welfare. This also includes sports and food/health aspects of certain businesses, such as restaurants/bars and hotels. In addition they oversee population's demographics including Residents Registry updates.

Rebekah Starks (44)
Minister. Currently residing in Evergreen Harbor, where she and her partner, Knox Greenburg, has a child. She was elected for Region 12 Mazaloom and represents MIDDLE party. She is among the younger politicians at People Chamber, but is already quite experienced, not the least as Minister of Science & Education dept. the previous period. She is best known for her strong ECO involvement, voiced by the MIDDLE party, which she leads.

Politically Starks belongs to the Speak to the Trees fraction. She is less focused on businesses, but more on people's general attitude and focus in life. She has been criticized for getting too involved with the ECO aspects, on the cost of most other community aspects.

Charlotta Mu. Crumpleton (64)
Elected for Region 12 Mazaloom, representing RIGHT party. She resides at Upperton in Gloomville, with husband and twin sons. She is also managing the old family company trading with timber, a business that was rather shady only a generation ago. Charlotta is he current Head of House of Crumpleton and her brother Charloman C. Dougham is in the People Chamber, too.

Politically Crumpleton belongs to the Simoleons for Everyone fraction. She was a member of the party's core group since Year 225 and was a member of the Trades & Taxes dept. last period. Her very old fashioned mindset seems to make it hard for her to accept bigger changes.

Lance Wooblershield (52)
Elected for Region 1 Windenburg, represents LEFT party. This is his first period and he has stated that he has come to stay. He resides at Dresden in Windenburg, with wife and four children.

Politically Wooblershield belongs to the No Sim Left Behind fraction of the LEFT party. He roots for a traditional community.

Lady Alice (Northdale) de Gould (45)
Elected for Region 8 Ticktop, represents RIGHT party and this is her first period in the chamber. She grew up in Newcrest, but moved to Glimmerbrook when marrying into House of Gould. She has one child.

Politically de Gould focuses on nature and health, combined with her career as Conservationist. She belongs to the Foundation of less Mischief fraction of the RIGHT party, fully supporting President Wilder's plans for fighting criminal networks.
