Church of Similius Announcement: New Priest

(Year 232, Fall) It has been known for a while that current Priest of Tredony parish, Christoph de Buttercups (78), will retire end of this year. Church of Similius' board has now agreed on his successor, who will serve the parish from 1st day of Year 233.

Region 3's fifth Priest will is named Benjamin Rosa, of House of Rosa in Ciudad Enamorada, Region 7. He moved to Windenburg 3 decades ago to serve the Monastery.

Priest Benjaminus will have his investiture late Spring, but will start the year by moving into the new Vicarage located at Terra Amorosa in  Tartosa, just a short walk from Tartosa Chapel, where he will work.

All first 3 Priests of this region were of the House de Porportoza, and they resideed at the Vicarage in Porto Tredony. Back then the main church was in Tredony, with Tartosa chapel serving as subsidary. The current Priest Christoph chose to stay at his local family property in Tartosa instead. Meanwhile the old vicarage was totally ruined in a fire, including the loss of several old paintings. Now Rifugio dei Pirati, which holds a long history involving former royal House de Froux, will be the new Tredony Vicarage, home to future priests and their families as the Froux moved to Chestnut Ridge.

Benjamin Rosa is aged 64 and single. While Monks never marry, they are free to do so when becoming Priests. Most get really old at the Monastery, though, and will never build a family. Benjamin will change his name to Benjaminus Rose (from Benjamin Rosa) in order to distance himself from his past.

Benjamin Rosa has green eyes, which definitely is no catch in this business.

Nestor of the Monastery, Wallort Rose (94), happens to be Benjaminus' uncle. It's not a problem though as long as there is no other priest from the Rosa family. It's an old saying that more than one priest from the same House will disturb the balance of power. That's the reason why the favorite for the new position, Monk Elevius Dipperwell (59), was not approved by the board - his uncle is already Priest in Gloom parish.

Benjaminus has a sister, Jade (Rosa) Lobster (51), at Dresden in Wndenburg, and a younger brother, Agiles Rosa (58), who inherited the family home in Ciudad Enamorada. House de Rosa went extinct with their father, as their total values had dropped below §250,000, which is the required minimum for running a House.

Benjaminus Rose's investiture will take place in Similius' Cathedral in Windenburg.
