Changes are now official and will have full effect from 1st day of Spring Year 233. However, in some areas changes are already being implemented. The website (both community pages and residents registry) has already been adjusted according to changes, but there will be a few more adjustments addressed shortly.
The new map shows that most changes will regard the old Region 12 Mazaloom. Up to now the People Chamber, the Royal Palace and the High Court were all located in this huge region, but next year all of them will be switching regions. Region 12 was the largest region by far, but will now hand over land to Region 3 Tredony, Region 7 Advorton and the new Region 5 San Myshuno. That's correct, our largest city will now form its very own region!
The goal for this reform was to avoid small and large regions, making the population balance better with the region's number of seats at the People Chamber. Although it was not possible to reduce San Myshuno without splitting it, which was voted down, the new structure seems like an all over improvement.
This week the regional Mayors attended a small event at President Wilder's office at the Council House, Magnolia Promenade in San Myshuno, in order to debate the changes. Together the 8 Mayors form the Mazaloom Council, which is a political organ not making decisions but being the link between People Chamber and the regions, including the many districts. They deal with local initiatives as well as stately directions.

Regional Mayor is a top position won at the 5 years election, but not all of them have a seat at People Chamber. The 8 Mayors were assigned following the Year 230 election. At the meeting only Region 5 San Myshuno was not represented, as they used to be part of Region 12. Back in Year 230 the LEFT party won San Myshuno, so they will assign a Mayor for the remaining 2 years of this period.
Also, Mayor of Region 8, Eric Opticom, was not invited, as Region 8 is now under Region 4 Crafthole. Opticom's position was degraded to assist Roger Lockerbud, but will still function as the Glimmerbrook Councilor.

Region 3 Tredony
This region got the biggest growth as the city of Del Sol Valley was moved from Region 12. Del Sol Valley is home to the Royal Palace including the Royal Chamber, and would be a natural regional center. However, such structures are already established in old Tredony, and there will not be any changes at this time.

This region is new as the city of San Myshino left Region 12 to form its own. It is the largest region of the kingdom, population wise.
