Weddings Galore

(Year 235, Summer) We have so many weddings these days, that Church of Similius had to restrict the frequency of wedding ceremonies in their five churches: Only one wedding per seasons Spring, Summer and Fall per church. This year all churches were booked for Summer, and several outdoor venues were used as well.

Meadows parish

Let's start with the Meadows parish, where some well known residents gave their woes.

Ms Valeria Phlum and Baron Rainert of Myshuno were married in Gloom Church.

The wedding getting the most attention this year, was Baron Rainert of Myshuno (33) finally getting married. The bride was Ms Valeria Phlum (32), also from San Myshuno. The two met at the private Mossy Lane dorm while getting their University degees. Valeria is already a doctor, just like her mother, and she is also known from Ice Skating where she won medals five times, winning gold 6 years ago as her best achievement.

Wedding ceremony took place in the Gloom Church, Gloomville. It was a very anticipated event, as House of Thebe had a quite rough ride for a few decades and hardly survived. The couple will reside the barony estate at Arts Quarter, San Myshuno, securing the future of both House of Thebe and the Myshuno barony.

This Spring, another celebrity wedding took place in the Gloom Church, Gloomville. This is likely the most busy church, as this parish covers the city of San Myshuno, and this is the parish's only indoor venue that is served by Church of Similius. The Meadows is a popular outdoor city venue, but strongly depends on the weather - besides not everyone find it charming getting married at a cemetery.

The celebrities were Singer Tamara Adrian (30) marrying to Actor Chaos Kessler (41). They have been a couple for a while, and already have a toddler son, Oliver (2).

Tamara released her first music recording last year, «Lovesongs», and Chaos Kessler is well known for the mysterious character Noldus the Clown, that brought him national fame a few years ago, but they both also performed with the Puppeters Acting Company, and over the past few years Chaios built a decent film Actor career. This coming Fall we will see him in «Blue Tomato», acting with names like Judith Ward and Venessa Jeong. The couple lives at Arts Quarter in San Myshuno. Tamara also has a famous triplet sister, Khloe A. Mervil, married to Fritz Mervil who is the CEO of Simmerville Studio and is well known for hosting the popular Simmerville Show. Both guested the wedding.

There were also an outdoor wedding at The Meadows in San Myshuno. Miko Ojo (59) married to long time partner Akira Kibo (60). Miko is a familar face to many San Myshuno residents, frequenting the karaoke bars and even flirting with local politics in the city.

Miko Ojo and Akira Kibo finally got married. Son Pecci Ojo and Lawyer Druemann joined them.

They had a very small ceremony, not including a Priest but a Lawyer. And because their families reside in Empire of Snorthia, only friends joined them for this big day. The couple have a teen son, and the reason they now marry is that they plan moving back to Mt Komorebi, where they both hail from protected families. Returning to Empire of Snorthia unmarried with a teen son would harm their families reputation too much. Being female, Miko will not benefit from the freedom she did enjoy in San Myshuno, but at least she will now reside in the cradle of her favorite hobby, the karaoke!

Windenburg parish

The marriage of Politician Adriana Hyde (61) and Crispin Black (57) stirred some interest in Nordhaven. This Summer their wedding took place at the Similius Cathedral in Windenburg's oldtown. A weird option when the wedding caused some conflicts within the Black family, and the Hyde family was not able to fill the cathedral. But it is well known that Adriana Hyde never tried to scale down anything.

She used to live with Crispin's brother, Antoine. They even had a daughter, Iverborg (5). Then Adriana threw out Antone and installed his brother instead.

Adriana Hyde is currently one of the politicians with a seat at People Chamber. She is a member of the Science & Education Ministry.

Tredony parish

A couple weddings coming up in the region Tredony later this Summer, among them is the weddinbg of the Priest at the old Hoap Cathedral in San Sequoia. This cathedral serves the Jacobian Faith, so it will not be reported in this article.

Raven parish

Also the Raven parish is very busy this year, but the best known couple married a year ago.

Summer of last year, Mr Alexander Goth (42), House of Goth, married Gemma Charm (27) from Glimmerbrook, Ravenwood. The couple resides the Goth House in Copperdale, and already had a son, Oltimer.

Mr Alexander Goth is a Scientist well known from the ongoing Flock People project.

Mr Goth is set to be future Head of House, but his elderly father, Mr Mortimer Goth (77) is still around. He recently moved to Ravenwood to marry Else Cracrow (76). It is a bit complicated that Head of House resides away from home, but as old Mortimer states it; That problem shall be solved shortly.

Alexander's sister, Cassandra, also resides in Ravenwood, as she married into House of Mux-Raisser years ago.

Another couple that might be of interest is Gambla Pehlwoud (37) marrying to Shadius Tapper (28). The couple resides in Copperdale, and Shadius Tapper was recently releasing his debute book, "Raven's Feathers - Shadows of Ravenwood", stirring up quite some regional interest.

Shadian Tapper is son of Fedibeth E. Tapper (55), the actress making a solid comeback with last year's film success, "My Late Sister in Ravenwood".


Another celebrity getting married in Ravenwood is Artist Layne Coffin (57). He is no youngster, but after years as a member of a group, he is now building a career as a solo artist, with one album released already. This Summer he married to mysterious undertaker Olive M. Specter (71). They have been a couple for a while, though, and they are too old to have common children - in the ordinbary way.

None of the two has many relatives in Ravenwood, so their wedding was a small one. Olive's son Nyon (18) still lives at home.

This Summer also saw the wedding of Ronan Elderberry (37) and Barbara Grotty (31), Britechester. Ronan grew up with his grandparents, now both dead, in Gibbs Hill, although his mother is still living in Chestnut Ridge. He inherited their townhouse that was set up for rentable apartments, not yet activated due to a bug.

Roran and Barbara live on ground floor, planing to make some income from renters on the two other units, eventually. Barbara, who acted as one of the two kids in the old TV series, Life Unlimited, has a son, Rasmus Grotty (3) from a previous relation.

Advorton parish

In the Advorton parish a member of high nobility House of Altham married this Summer. Mr Victor Floyd Altham (54), actually holding the Aarby barony, married his Cathrina Ferny (36). They have been residing the Altham dynasty's oldest estate in Ciudad Enamorada for a few years as caretakers, and there are speculations they now marry because of a baby being on the way. Victor has lived a bit outside the aristocratic norm not even using his baron title officially, but his heritage is very strong - both his grandfathers were of high nobility, one Duke and one Count. The current Count of Advorton is Victor's uncle. Victor himself is only 4th in line to the Advorton county, but he probably thinks that his own less important Aarby barony is more than enough.

Cathrina Ferny might not be of Aristocrazy, but she is not a nobody. Her mother is Lawyer Anita Ferny, currently High Judge of the Law Chamber, one of Mazalom's highest community positions possible.

Church of Similius restricts Wedding ceremonies

Summer is the most popular season for weddings i Mazaloom, it is possibly caused by aristocratic traditions where most want a wedding during Social Season (Summer), and Fall is less practical because both House members and staff traditionally move addresses in Fall.

High Priest Ansgar Profedius reveals a new strategy regarding weddings.

- Weddings are our most popular events, and our Priests will gladly serve them. However, there are costs involved on our hands, too, so we had to restrict this service a little bit. Each of our venues will now provide three weddings per year only. We believe that it will still be enough to meet the growing demand, but the change might force a few couples to move their big day to either Spring or Fall, or to pick a venue not served by a Priest.

We know that Aristocracy will gladly pay for a Summer wedding, so we raised the price a little bit in Summer. The Similius Cathedral here in Windeenburg, where I serve myself, is the number one choice for any House with some funds ready, but we had to reduce the frequency to save the old cathedral. This venue is more expensive than the four churches.

While norm is to marry in your own parish, or at least in the parish where the new couple will establish their household, there exist no law preventing a wedding in any church. So, your favorite season might be available if you just allow some travel.

We also must point out that our prices and restrictions cover the venues owned by Church of Similius,  only. These locations are the only locations we are expected to serve. You can freely choose to get marry at other venues, such as hotels or in some parks, but that would be without our wedding services. Each parish is expected to provide minimum one wedding venue that is free of charge. It will normally be a small outdoors arrangement, and your day might depend on nice weather, too. but it will not be affected by our price and frequency strategy.
