Welcome! :) On this blog you will find stories, how i play and videos created with The Sims 4, but also a few projects from older game versions can be found in the Archive. The old TS3 stories have their own blogs. Most long going stories have a main page with index of updates.

Check out Simmerville's Youtube channel!

I'm no longer on Tumblr! I refused to give all their 3rd parties unlimited access to my computer. Link still works, but no updates.

Noble Graduates

(Britechester, Year 226) This Summer two graduating university students reached the regional media. One Baron who will become Duke when he takes over his father's dukedom later this year. And one Lord who will become a high nobility Baron, probably next year.

Baron Charlopold de Cavalier supported by Duke and Duchess (left) and siblings (right).

At the old University of Britechester Baron Charlopold de Cavalier (35) got his History degree, in fact a family tradition as the dukedom expects the peer to reach upper Officer levels of the Military career.

The Political Parties

(Year 226) In my Region 12 (and beyond) there is a quite detailed political system with a long history and with lots of focus during the 5 years election. There are 3 parties, and each party "owns" their share of the Neighborhood Action Plans (NAP) and has also a Core Group counting up to 8 dedicated Politicians.

I don't play the party organizations in detail, like I don't even know who is their leader. But the Core Group might have formal meetings if I feel like it. Normally I don't. Each party has a logo that is accessible as wall decor/mostly used for the corkboard (I wish we could have exchangeable jacket buttons). Politicians representing their party might wear a ribbon (blue, red or green). Each party also publicize a new postcard every 5th year or so, intended for the office wall of their Politicians and the general supporters. Other than this, I know when each party was founded, and when they will celebrate a jubilee.

Walk of Fame: Octavia Moon

(Del Sol Valley, Year 226) With the recent publishing of her Poems for Sleep Walkers, writer Octavia Moon has reached Global Fame! Last night she invited friends and fans to a ceremony at Walk of Fame in Del Sol Valley.

The situation turned out a little awkward as she was placing her tile.

Sulani: The Backstory

(Sulani, Year 226) I promised to share my take on the Sulani backstory, so here it is.

I grabbed the Island Living expansion pack on sale a month ago, and had loads more fun than I expected from exploring and adjusting. I'll basically use the world as a vacation world way outside Region 12, but I will also include 3 local households to my rotation. Knowing their background adds to my experience. The Landgraabs owns a vacation home at Ohan'ali Town, and the Rossie Trust (Duke of Rossie) owns a vacation home at Lani St. Taz. In addition, Calera Camp is a Science Station where Scientists from all SimNation will spend a couple days, occasionally, studying anything from minerals, volcanic activity, the marine biology, wildlife and green environment.

But let's have a look at Sulani's history and how the story leads to the rulers of today.

Calendar Year 226

A new year just started in my Region 12, and the high nobility houses share headlights from their events calendar Year 226. The year is roughly planned a year in advance, making it easier for their busy network to reserve certain dates for the upcoming celebrations, and to avoid that big events conflict. Most events are set for a season rather than a specific date, details will be shared later in formal invitations. Each district will normally host one or two major events per year, and most houses will accept only one invitation per season.

Sulani Scientists

(Sulani, Year 226) While I'm still preparing a long article giving my take on the Sulani backstory, I want to share a bit from way Region 12's residents will benefit from a stay in Sulani. The place will naturally mainly attract sun seekers, but there is also many reasons for Scientists to visit this small and exotic community.

St. Taz is well known way beyond Sulani. The volcano stayed dormant for more than hundred years, but recently the activity has increased. The eruptions are yet limited, but the mighty impression makes it easier to understand how the volcano could be the God of the ancient community - and still is. Many of the rituals performed for tourists are based on the sacred respect for Taz.

Region 12 NEWS - Year 225

Year 225 is complete, and here's the annual NEWS edition!

The clip is just 4 minutes, and contains standard rubrics like News, Finance, Showbiz, Job listings, and of course various Family notes. The Y225 edition features global star Judith Ward and many more!

Hosts to tie it all together are Paulo Caliente and Antoinette Morck.

You might find a few how I play tips, and most news have more details in the community section/residents registry linked from top of this blog. There is also some related content in my As Sims Go By video series.

Sulani: Francine Bazar

(Sulani Year 225) Before I introduce you to my take on Sulani's backstory, I want to share some pictures of a new community lot. The lot comes with too much CC to be uploaded, but the concept is very simple and - if you like it - should not take long to rebuild in your own way.

Francine Bazar could work with many lot categories, but I have it as Retail. I wanted a way for vacationers (and locals) to buy stuff, including a few things not typical for Sulani.

The bazar is nothing new, and even further back it was just a herbs garden founded by Francine Ville (pictured). Nobody knows for sure how or when she came to Sulani. Her secret past as a Witch and Herbalist was never spoken of, neither the fact that she left a Mandrake to take over her old life in Glimmerbrook (based on info from a bookshelf description). She probably arrived Sulani around Year 160 (that's 65 years ago).

Deadgrass Lordship 175 Years Anniversary

(Brindleton, Year 225) Deadgrass Island might be small, but means a lot to Brindleton residents. Although Whiskerman's Wharf is the oldest hood, the island captured the locals' souls after a ship hitting solid rocks during a storm and filling the island with cats and dogs. That shipwreck was partly the reason why the lighthouse was built. The other part was the fact that the King could spot foreign ships earlier with the assistant of a Lighthouse Keeper. So, the Deadgrass peerage was introduced in Year 50 - that means 175 years anniversary was to be celebrated this Winter!

The very prominent group of invitees counted nearly fifty guests, and pictured above are those of noble rank or closely related to either Lord of Deadgrass or the Cavalier dukedom.
Front row left to right: Baron Charloman de Cavalier, Duchess Claudine de Cavalier, Duke Aquess de Cavalier. Dominic Fyres, Lord of Deadgrass, von Dresden and Hunt. Moira R. Fyres, Lady of Dresden. Duke Merlin von Windenburg. Elvira de Sür-Blyth and Hugo (Villareal), Lady and Lord de Sür-Blyth.
Back row left to right: Lady Merielle de Cavalier, Lord Leon de Cavalier, Siobhan (Fyres) Hump. Duke Victus and Duchess Gloria of Meadows. Jurton Summerton, Lord Foxbury. Morgan F. Saxor, Baroness of Verde. Stephan Ebernizer (Sim City business man, descending from the first Lord of Deadgrass).

Happy New Island

Happy new year! First simming thing I did in 2021 was to grab a pack from the ongoing Origin sale, Island Living EP. January 3rd is the last day to save 50% on many packs. Back when this pack was released I figured I did not need it, so I skipped it and never looked back. I already have way too many households, and I would never play mermaids. But now with the "rentable vacation homes in any world" things changed. I want Sulani for vacations, and I'll even imagine some of my richer families owning a vacation home there. And - it might be great for storytelling, too.

So, while I'm already enjoying creating the backstories to a limited number of households, as well as adjust some community lots, here are a few screenshots from the warming up :)
