(Year 229) San Myshuno residents are complaining about the commercial boards taking up more and more of the public room. Grey Sims member, Sybil H. Rasoya (77), says Spice Market is bombarded with glowing signs with bright in-your-face ads. It has become even worse now before the Election. - This needs to be addressed!

Cybil H. Rasoya is not happy with the commercial boards! |
- We are used to some commercials in the city, and I am not suggesting that all advertising must stop, but there is a big difference between static painted advertisements on a wall and glowing illuminated signs that might even blink or constantly switch ads. I never fancied roof top boards either, but those placed on the pavement are even worse! If you forgot your glasses at home you might accidentally walk right into them, then get dizzy and walk right into the traffic, and get seriously wounded! We can do fine without such a danger!
In other districts there exist rules that i.e. restrict the use of light boards. Windenburg's Oldtown does not permit illuminated boards at all, and in Tartosa's Porto Luminoso they are only allowed on wall and roof. It will be up to the next The People Chamber to debate similar restrictions in the city.

LEFT Politician Anaya Jang (63) strongly disagrees. - Without the businesses and stores we would neither have jobs nor access to products we like to find in our favorite store. It's part of the game that they advertise their offers. These days we see more political advertisements, which is natural because we are in the final round of this Election. I don't think there are too many boards in San Myshuno, but we could perhaps debate details like their light strength. Turning down the light just a little might make them easier to accept for everyone.
Jang is the current leader of the Culture & Entertainment dept., while the commercial boards service is administrated by the Trades & Taxes dept. .
- The boards are not on my table, but I can inform you that the system will be slightly adjusted after this election. The idea is then to have up to 8 slots; one reserved information from the The People Chamber, one for each political party that have minimum 5 seats in The People Chamber, and one for organizations including the smaller parties. The remaining slots will be for commercially advertising (stores, movies, travel destinations, and a lot more. Nothing is written in stone, though.
While the Grey Sims members wait for a potential debate, I was happy (and surprised) to notice that the CC board graphics also affect the bulletin boards that are found in the city apartments builds. Not as flashy, though. Now I wonder if my CC ads will show on the public toilet walls, too? LEFT party is the strongest party here at Spice Market, but the MIDDLE party obviously paid to challenge them, trying to win more local Hood Contacts and by that also more seats in The People Chamber.

Technically, the ground boards "What happens" will frequently get updated with new swatches. I will adjust the textures in Sim4Studio. This affects the on lot object, but also the same object that is used on common hood ground outside the lots, and therefore can not be modified directly. Updating the advertisements will make the content feel more local, like these days the top Politicians are being advertised all over the kingdom, trying to collect some extra votes. The board randomly displays one of the stored advertisement, that I can change technically "backstage"as often as I like.
