Nobility Descending from Kings

(Year 232, Summer) Mazaloom kingdom has a wide aristocracy including a level of high nobility. Today this level includes 12 Houses, but come the Regional Reform Y233 the exclusive list shall count only 8 high nobility Houses, one for each region. Let's have a look at the current 12 Peers; Who can track their lines back to our kings? And, will those royal lines affect what 4 Houses that will shortly drop to regular nobility (often referred to as low nobility)?

Let's check the House by House. There are 5 dukedoms, 4 counties and 3 baronies. Only the dukedoms are secured a position as high nobility. Here is how they rank by royal heritage:

Tredony county - House de Luminoso ****

Current Count de Tredony is HH Prince Jerome (67). He shares many descendants with our current King Tarriot, including their common grandfather King Tybe (Y93-178), but also King Courtis (Y-40-28) (2 lines), and King Baltazar (Y-42-48). So, Prince Jerome scores highest in our informal ranking with a total of 4 royal lines! He also descends from House of Luxe-Hamper, House von Heimlich, House of Panter, House of Saxor, House von Donnersmalt, and House of Brixerwood - all high nobility. In addition there are lines back to low nobility houses Dougham, Lenger, Mux-Raisser, and Winston.

Rossie dukedom - House of Ross **

The current Duke Jarret (62) descends from 2 monarchs; King Courtis (Y-40-28) and King Baltazar (Y-42-48). This ranks him 2nd in our informal list. Also his wife, Duchess Ribra Lynn has royal roots, namely King Courtis who founded her father's House of Thebe back in the Medieval era.

In addition Duke Jarret descends from House of Ross, House of Saxor (2 lines), House von Donnersmalt and House of Brixerwood - all high nobility. There are also 2 lines leading back to the long gone House of Winston.

Meadows dukedom - House of Saxor **

The current Duke Victus (58) of Meadows has royal heritage, with 2 lines leading back to King Baltazar (-42-48). These go through his grandmother Duchess Victoria of Meadows, who was granddaughter of Princess Emergale who was daughter of King Baltazar. And, through his grandfather, Baron Victin of Gloom, who was grandson of the same Princess Emergale. In addition Duke Victus descends from House of Saxor, House of Brixerwood (3 lines), House von Donnersmalt (2 lines), and House von Heimlich - all high nobility. There are also lines back to House of Vinkman (2 lines), House von Lenger and House of Winston - all extinct.

Ticktop county - House de Gould **

Count Helfert (48) descends from King Baltazar (Y-42-48), but also from King Courtis (-40-28). Both royal lines go through his grandmother Baroness Venezia (yes, the one that our Queen Venezia is named after). Her father was grandson of King Baltazar, and her mother was granddaughter of King Courtis.

Count Helfert also descends from House de Gould, House of Roxenfox, House of Moon, and House of Brixerwood - all high nobility. There are also lines to low nobility houses of Dougham (2 lines), Winston (2 lines), Mandrake, and Luxe-Hamper.

Myshuno barony - House of Thebe *

Baron Rainert of Myshuno (30) descends from King Courtis (Y-40-28) of the House of Thebe, through his grandfather Baron Robert of Myshuno.

In addition Baron Rainert descends from House of Ross, House of Saxor (4 lines!), House von Donnersmalt, House of Brixerwood, and House von Heimlich - all high nobility.

There are also lines to low nobility houses of Alcorn, Mux-Raisser (2 lines), Winston (3 lines), and Vinkman. House of Thebe had a tight connection to House of Saxor, probably thanks to common ancestors, but also because both families having their main estate in the city of San Myshuno.

Verde barony - House of Sax-Donnersmalt *

Baron Auphor of Verde (91) is head of a new House, but was formerly head of House of Saxor. He descends from King Baltazar (Y-42-48). Baron Auphor's grandfather Baron August of Verde was grandson of King Baltazar, but also the brother of King Wizar (Y48-118).

In addition he descends from House von Donnersmalt (through his mother), House of Saxor, and House of Brixerwood (2 lines). There are also lines to low nobility houses of Mux-Raisser, Vinkman, and Winston.

Gloom barony - House von Kaching *

House von Kaching is a rather new house, but the current Baron Bud (84) is technically of the House of Ching with roots from the Empire of Snorthia. His grandfather was Ronald Ching Mester Mugger, actually ranked below low nobility, but he was married to Lady Emergale of the House of Brixerwood. She was named after her grandmother Princess Emergale, oldest daughter of King Baltazar and Queen Coldine of Mazaloom. Princess Emergale married to Baron Victor of Verde, which might explain why Oasis Springs (Verde) and Gloomville (Gloom) had such a tight contact up through history. Princess Emergale's son became our 4th monarch, King Wizar (Y48-118).

Windenburg dukedom - House von Heimlich

The current Duke Merlin (86) has no royal heritage.

His father, the late Duke Gustav von Windenburg descended from House von Heimlich and House of Ross, both high nobility. His mother, Duchess Brynhilde descended from the low nobility House of Alcorn and the Ravenot family, that holds a very high position as one of the top protected families of the Empire of Snorthia, associated with the Tomarang temple.

Aarbyville dukedom - House de Croismare

The current Duke Vibrattore (50) has no royal heritage.

He descends from high nobility House de Croismare, House of Brixerwood (2 lines), House von Heimlich, House of Roxenfox, and House of Saxor.

In addition there are lines back to the low nobility houses of Vinkman, Winston, Dougham and Shallot.

Cavalier dukedom - House de Cavalier

Duke Charlopold (41) has no royal heritage.

He descends from high nobility House of Ross, House of Roxenfox, House von Donnersmalt, House of Brixerwood, and House of Saxor. Also Duchess Luna has a line back to House of Ross.

In addition low nobility houses von Klasse, Vinkman (2 lines), Winston, and Mux-Raisser.

Crafthole county - House of Paris

Current Count Jacop (47) descends from House of Paris, but there are no royal blood in his veins.

Advorton county - House of Altham

Count Chander (57) descends from high nobility House of Altham, but no other houses considered aristocracy.

Of these 12 high nobility houses 5 have no line back to royals. It's interesting that this actually includes 3 of the dukedoms. This shows that relations to former kings have no impact on what high nobility peerage will stay high nobility after the regional reform Y233. Family ties offers no guideline.
