(Year 232, Summer) A smaller event took place in Del Sol Valley last week, as Judith Ward invited the press to celebrate that Ward Park has been a public venue since 25 years. Obviously, locals did not care a lot, but if they had attended, they would have been treated with a surprise visit by HRH Queen Venezia!

Ward Park was established 25 years ago by film director Simerin Ward. |
Ward Park was donated to Del Sol Valley residents in Year 207 by Film Director Simerin Ward (Y122-208). The park is quite spacious, but only a tiny square is equipped to be enjoyed by visitors. Hardly any improvements were made over the decades. So, Judith was proud to announce that she now has great plans! Although the lot is owned by community and she can not decide bigger changes just like that, she is still associated with the park and is allowed to minor administrative matters. Her plan might need regional approval, though.

Film Director S. Ward. |
First some history. Simerin Ward was the 2nd husband of Judith Ward, but not the last one, as she is now married for the 4th time.
Simerin Ward directed numerous big movies and became a legend of his own time. It should be safe saying that he is the one to blame for Judith's global fame, as she had the lead role in several of his most successful movies. He donated this lot to Del Sol Valley, in order to give something back to the community. Unfortunately the park was never fully developed, but still serves as a free spot for anyone to hang out whether they like a BBQ or not.
Rumors have it that Judith Ward was against such a donation back then, probably because Simerin Ward left behind no children and she was the sole heir to all of his possessions. When he died they had been married for exactly 10 years, which is the minimum for fully inheriting a spouse. She still resides at his The Ward Den up at The Pinnacles.

The press always loved Judith Ward, and still does! |
The press will always attend whenever Judith Ward gives them a hint. Anyway, a 25 years anniversary is at least a good title for a short article, much better than just the regular Judith picture with no story attached to it.
Queen Venezia is actually a neighbor of Judith, as the Royal Palace is not far from The War Den. However, the two are not friends, although Judith on numerous occasions did attempt a closer relation. The queen stopped by Judith's event rather off protocol, but helped adding even more omph for the press. Besides, it was not really that far off the royal palace, anyway.
|
Queen Venezia made a surprise appearance to support a neighbor. |
Her Royal Highness was dressed rather anonymously compared to the red loving Actress. Perhaps that was intentional. It was a hot day and the queen might have longed for the shadows, hoping the event would not drag out.
But, everyone knowing Judith Ward also knows that she loves to drag out any sort of good attention...
|
The posing was suggested by Judith herself. |
She suggested that she could pose in front of the golden board, currently displaying the advertisement of one of her later movies, «Her Best Friend».
|
Judith Ward is still looking great for pushing her 70s. |
The story says nothing about whether Judith held the Queen waiting while she posed, or if Queen Venezia had already left the Ward Park when the posing was suggested.
Ward Park had a minor upgrade for the anniversary. A bird feeder, a small mat for Cheer leaders to practice their solo dance, and a marble game setting where kids can play - a bit out of the way of course. Everyone knows that the Actress is not very found of children, despite having two of them herself.
And those great plans? Judith Ward revealed that she wants the park to have a Judith Ward sculpture, but that this process will take a while because Del Sol Valley will switch from Region 12 to Region 3 this Winter, and she can not apply until the Regional Reform is complete in order to direct her request to the correct unit.
So, if she gets through with her plan, we might look forWARD to another event at Ward Park next year!
