(Year 232, Summer) This weekend there was a celebration at Shiningham Hall, Henford-on-Bagley. The occasion was Robin Hump celebrating his young adult birthday.

Despite residing Shiningham Hall, Robin is considered a commoner. Young adult birthdays will normally not get a mention here, but let's spend a moment to look into this household and to learn why Robin might fare a bit better than most of same age youngsters.
Robin Hump is the only child of Dr. Nivert Hump and
Elvy Ross (born Rab-Saxor). His parents divorced long ago, and Robin moved with his mother from San Myshuno to Henford-on-Bagley in Region 2 Rossie. Elvy remarried to
Lord Bennet Ross, and through the marriage she got to be styled Lady. She is a distant relative of the high nobility House of Saxor, through her late father in Windenburg, Mester Lykke. Lord Bennet is the younger brother of Duke Jarret Ross.

Robin's parents divorced when he was a child. He spent all his teenage years in Henford-on-Bagley. |
Dr. Nivert Hump remarried Ms Siobhan Fyres, and founded House of Hump. Robin Hump has younger half brothers in both households.
His 25th birthday was celebrated at the old and and unique Shiningham Hall, which was built by a past Duke of Rossie, intended for the Baron of Shiningham. It is located in Finchwick. Up to recently there was no Baron Shiningham for several decades, allowing for the duke's younger brother, Lord Bennet Ross, to reside here with his family. Shiningham barony was traditionally in charge of the local apple nectar production, a proud brand that put Henford on the map for centuries.
Guests at the party was of course Robin's close family, including his father Dr. Hump with his 2nd wife Mrs Siobhan F. Hump.
Duke Jarret of Rossie with
Duchess Ribra Lynn were there.
So were Robin's uncle
Baron Vintec of Prome (House of Rab-Saxor) and Baroness Erica. Victus is one of Lady Elvy's brothers.
Previously Lord Bennet Ross used the title Baron of Shiningham, which made Elvy a Baroness. But then the Royal Chamber pointed out that this was not approved or legal, and had to stop. Bennet was degraded to his born Lord status, but they were allowed to stay for a while longer at Shiningham Hall, until Duke Jarret's main heir claims the estate. Baron Rabbert of Shiningham (courtesy) is still a teenager, and when he becomes young adult he will study at University for 4 years, so the current household won't need to relocate quite yet.
Robin Hump will move to Britechester shortly, to study. He will probably stay in a manor owned by the Rossie Trust, where also the Baron of Shiningham will stay while studying. There are now speculations that also the royal children will stay at the same Britechester estate while studying at University. First out will be Crown Princess Emireza in a couple years.
So, although Mr. Robin Hump has no title (beyond being addressed as Mister), he seems to mingle with royals and high nobility. He is basically not a candidate to marry anyone of a top level, but you never know - this commoner is not the typical commoner after all.
