Baron Bud of Gloom is Dead

(Year 232, Winter) In a press release the House von Kaching informs that Baron Bud of Glom passed away last night, aged 84. His health was good until last few days, and he died surrounded by his family. He died as a high nobility Peer, only 2 days before losing the Gloom District Order, which according to the Regional Reform will reduce the Gloom barony to regular nobility. Therefor, he will always be remembered as a baron of high nobility.

Bud von Kaching held the Gloom barony for 49 years. His father, Esmond Ching, achieved nothing more than a Mester title (Mester Mugger), but a distant relative and baron died with no male heirs. Bud demonstratively ignored his origin by changing his name from Ching to von Kaching. His ancestors came from the Ching family of Simerinia in the Empire of Snorthia, generations ago. He inherited both the Gloom barony and the less prominent Gibbs barony, and settled at the old Brixerwood House at Upperton, Gloomville.

Baron Bud and Baroness Rose's only son, The Honorable Edward is the new Baron Edward of Gloom, and his wife, Lady Merielle, becomes Baroness. Rose von Kaching will now be known as Dowager Baroness Rose of Gloom. Changes take place immediately, while Baron Edward must wait a year for his formal coronation.

Bud served as a Region 12 Councilor for several years (RIGHT party), and was featured in the multiple seasons long video series «As Sims Go By». He lead a successful Business career, and he was a dedicated Patron of Church of Similius for decades. He never commented officially on his elderly sister Paula Ching (86) making the headlines earlier this year, by marrying to Baron Floyd of Emp (94).

Aside from the two peerages, Gloom and Gibbs baronies, Baron Bud leaves behind quite a fortune. Testament reading will be arranged this coming Spring. He had only 2 children. Daughter, The Honorable Aili (von Kaching) Landgraab will probably be entitled to maximum 25% of the totals.
