(Year 234, Summer) Mazaloom kingdom is nearly 235 years old. There were numerous monarchs during all those years, but historians agree that the most important of them all - to this date - was King Baltazar II. With 46 years on the Throne, he is still the nation's longest reigning monarch. Current King Tarriot has already reigned for 36 years, but is atm only 3rd.
Today there still live many descendants of King Baltazar II. With a few exceptions, they are all found within aristocracy. We'll track them all in this mini series of 3 articles.
Back in the Medieval era King Baltazar's household resided at Heighwood Castle (Britechester), also known as the Heighwood Farm. His children and grandchildren spread all over the nation, though. In this series, descendants are presented by region, and, as a bonus, you'll also find some quite interesting foreigners listed at the very end (5th article).
= Region Windenburg =
Mr Benjamin Rab-Saxor (30), Windenburg
Mr Benjamin is the son of Mr Ericco Rab-Saxor Mester Lykke and his late 1st wife, Anthebe. He is their main heir, but Head of House is controled by his uncle, Baron xxx of Prome. His mother, Anthebe, was sister of Duchess Gloria of Meadows and late Duchess Claudine de Cavalier, and Mr Benjamin's royal bloodline goes through her. The three sisters' father was grandson of KIng Baltazar's grandchild. Benjamin is on a much lower level of nobility, though. He is still single, living with his father and stepmother in Windenburg.
Mrs Raggyann (Dipperwell) Rab-Saxor (52), Windenburg
She is the 2nd wife of Mr Ericco Rab-Saxor Mester Lykke, and stepmother to Mr Benjamin (above). They live at Isle von Windenburg and they have one common child, son Toppian, who is still in school. Raggyann is the current owner of Cordelia's Hideaway cottage in Henford-on-Bagley, which is let to renters. The cottage is passed down to females, only.
Her line back to King Baltazar goes via her mother, who actually descended from the king on both parents' side. Both lines go via King Baltazar's daughter, Princess Emergale.
Mrs Raggyann's brother is a Monk. Priest Trompador Dipperwell and wife Cordeva (Geoffrey Landgraab's halfsister) had three children, where of two grew up. The oldest is Elevius, who became a Monk at age of 15. He is now a member of the Monastery of Similius, located at Isle von Windenburg. Most will know him as Brother Elevius. He has no children.
His grandmother was Princess Ann Caramelle, who was the daughter of King Wizar, grandson of King Baltazar.
= Region Rossie =
Duke Jarret of Rossie (64), Henford-on-Bagley
Jarret, of the high nobility House of Ross, descends from King Baltazar through the king's daughter, Princess Emergale, and her son, Baron August of Verde. August's daughter Eva Maria married into another high nobility House, Saxor, and their daughter Lady Julia became Jarret's mother.
Jarret married The Hon. Ribra Lynn of House of Thebe, and they had 5 sons aged 4 to 32. Their seat is at the Rossie Palace in Henford-on-Bagley.
Lord Bennet Ross (49), Henford-on-Bagley
Duke Jarret's younger brother, Lord Bennet, married Elvy from House of Rab-Saxor, and they have 2 sons. Bennets line back to King Baltazar is the same as of his brother (above).
Lord Bennet is among the rare nobles involved with politics. His household is staying at Shiningham Hall (Finchwich), but now that the duke's sons grow older, Bennet will shortly need to move elsewhere.
Mr Jurton Summerton Mester Foxbury (47), Britechester
His House founded the Foxbury Institute, and their seat is at Foxbury. Mr Jurton descends from King Baltazar through his mother, Vigana, who hailed from the Verde barony.
Mr Jurton married Sarah Honeydew from Gibbs Hill, and they have 3 children aged 5 to 13.
Mrs Agnes Crumplebottom (101), Henford-on-Bagley
Yes, this old lady has royal blood in her veins. Due to her high age, only 3 generations are between Agnes and King Baltazar. Her father's mother was King Baltazar's grandchild.
Agnes resides in Henford-on-Bagley with cousin Agatha. Up to now Agnes' son Angus has stayed there too, with wife and daughter, but now that he got some of his heritage, he is expected to buy his own residence. With Agnes being among the kingdom's wealthiest women, Angus is probably not in search of a cottage.
Next issue will focus on regions Tredony and Crafthole.
