Welcome! :) On this blog you will find stories, how i play and videos created with The Sims 4, but also a few projects from older game versions can be found in the Archive. The old TS3 stories have their own blogs. Most long going stories have a main page with index of updates.

Check out Simmerville's Youtube channel!

I'm no longer on Tumblr! I refused to give all their 3rd parties unlimited access to my computer. Link still works, but no updates.

Download: Want 11 Medals?

July 2022: Downloading from this blogger post no longer works, so please head over to a new page listing all my TS4  custom content. All free. DOWNLOADS

I've previously told about my
High Orders where the exclusive members get a medal and sometimes a sash. Now it's time to share those medals!

They are recolors by me, based on the great cc work by another simmer, @batsfromwesteros. So, in order to use my recolors you will need to have the original Granny's Chip Brooch in your mods folder, too. You will find it on this link.

Sandtrap Crafts Market

In my Region 12 there are 2 markets with traditions going more than 100 years back. In Gloomville (aka Willow Creek) there is the Mugger Fair, which is a farmers' market. This blog post focuses on Oasis Spring's Sandtrap Crafts Market - once a thriving market for anything horse related, but over time transformed to a market for anyone to sell their crafted goods.

Sandtrap is located in Oasis Springs' poor hood, Nookstone (some still use the old name, Bedrock). It was originally initiated by the first Lord Bedrock, Kevin Greco, who was the father of today's Natalie G. Twoller, Lady Bedrock. This family still owns this market, but it's become more of a hangout for tourists and locals, than a valuable business asset. The place is worn and shabby, and the owner has no intention (nor funds required) of upgrading it.

Welcome to Church of Similius

[Current Year 224] Nothing is bigger than the green plumbob! I've previously introduced you to my Church of Similius as well as the connected Monastery of Similius, but you never got to see the church! That's of course because it wasn't even built back then, I just pretended it was more than 120 years old...

So, now that the church is more or less completed, join me for a quick visit...

Download: Exhibition Posters "Forget Me Not"

July 2022: Downloading from this blogger post no longer works, so please head over to a new page listing all my TS4  custom content. All free. DOWNLOADS

The historical exhibition has successfully drawn a larger audience than expected to my Council House.

It was opened by Duke Victus Amador of Meadows few weeks go. His late mother, Ex-Duchess Cordenza of Meadows, is one of the 10 nobles displayed and is also featured on the exhibition poster that is now seen all over Region 12 - and beyond. She died in a car crash only aged 40.

The concept is simply to honor 10 of those who built this community. Most of them happen to be nobility, but some faiths were tragic and some even ended their life as poor. Still, they deserve to be remembered: "Forget Me Not".

StrangerVille - Here we come!

So, I just added the StrangerVille game pack, and the weird little world has already become a favorite! This far I mostly played the Roswell house, rebuilding both the StrangerVille Overlook house and their family history. I renamed them Rossell, and the current household is the 3rd Lord Acres. I might give you a tour of their house and past sometime.

StrangerVille has two hoods: Plaza (pictured), is the small town and Shady Acres is the posh area where my Lord Ted Rossell resides.

Community pages updated

Every year completed leads to a major update of the Community Pages and the Residents Registry, linked from top of this blog.

This is a massive site originally built to keep track on my game, everyone living there, their relatives, their life lines including their progress on various areas of life. On the Community Pages all info is sorted on the 5 departments of the Council. You will need to scroll through each of those sections to see all, but there is a short list on the left to help you see what content is found where.

It has become way more complex and detailed than I ever imagined, but as it is quite useful to me when making the As Sims Go By series and any other matter that includes some detail research, I've kept expanding it with more info.

Nobility - the High Orders

Part of my nobility implementation, is the refined community structure. By making history notes all the way back to the beginning at Year 1, seeing how a distant King and his high nobility system paved the ground for today's political system, was very interesting. One aspect of this all, was the fact that residents who did something extraordinary for the community, would be rewarded by the King, or by the Sovereign of each district's high nobility peerage. These medals are recolors that can be downloaded - see end of article.

You might recall that Duchess Claudine de Cavalier recently was honored with "The National Sprout"? All orders granted by the Monarch are dealt with on 1st Day of Winter. Some of the orders hold annual gatherings - normally a gala dinner where the new member is guest of honor.

Here's all you need to know about all existing High Orders in my game! Members will be listed on my Community Site eventually.

As Sims Go By - Season 2 - Episode 4

[The Sims 4 Machinima] Episode 4 of this season is called "A Touch Of Nobility". In my ongoing video series As Sims Go By you follow the ups and downs of Region 12's 5 Councilors and their families. Plus in this season the main story deals with (my take on) the Villareal household's backstory! Jill Potterfield keeps investigating the 33 years old drowning of Duke von Windenburg, Mandy Rosewood faces challenges in the jungle, Edward von Kaching finally learns about his grandfather, and Joanna (Siobhan) Fyres finally visits her folks at Dresden Farm. And of course a lot more!

This season has only 5 episodes, each lasting about 16 minutes, so next and final episode will be up late May.

If you are new to this series, it's recommended to watch season 1 (6 episodes), but you can hopefully enjoy this episode even if you start here. Feedback is always welcome.

Enjoy!

Fame as a Tool

In my Region 12 there are numerous famous persons, but not all are Actors or Artists. Also Politicians, Priests and Nobility get some fame stars, as I use the fame system as a tool affecting much more than performing arts.

Baron Charlopold Demitris de Cavalier (32) has 2 fame stars thanks to his title. In a couple years he will become Duke,
which involves a 3rd star. His fame will not fade as long as he resides Chateau Cavalier.

Read on to see my guidelines.

Exhibition Opening - Forget Me Not

(Year 223) I'm so excited! Last day of Fall and the big moment hit Council House! The opening of "Forget me not", the exhibition that Councilor Josue Rosewood has been working so hard to realize. It's been a year already since he started the planning.

Today was the grand opening and Duke Victus Amador Saxor of Meadows was the guest of honor. Before I move on, the exhibition will soon be available for download!

Nobility - Allowances

Although I pretend my nobility has been around for nearly 225 years, this is rather new in my actual game. It's a fun challenge implementing something new and make it look like it was there forever :)

Gloria F. Saxor,
Duchess of Meadows
I could have saved myself a lot of work by simply adding a very rich family with titles and a nice little castle, and then perhaps add some nice gowns and tiaras to my growing CC collection, but no - I like to have their back story, knowing how each family fared 150 years ago, their individual genetics, what lots they own today, how community handled the nobility system up through the many generations, and so on. With a rich and solid background I automatically get a packed calendar of public anniversaries worth celebrating, patronages, parks being named from their accurate founders, and much more. Then it becomes quite logical how some of the noble families are still on top of everything including finances, while others are nearly bankrupt.

Recently I made a routine for their allowances.
