(Year 225) One of my favorite households is the House of Saxor. Duke Victus and Duchess Gloria of Meadows, resides 1 Torendi Tower Penthouse at Fashion District in San Myshuno. This is a picture post just to show a bit of their everyday life.
Duke Victus (51) and Duchess Gloria (69) have only one child, Lady Corva (19). She has teenage mood swings just like any other teenager. She is well skilled, and well aware that she can not inherit the dukedom because she is a girl - how unfair!
In the background stands their live-in butler, Severine Phlum. Now that the household is rather small, the Butler also handles the kitchen.
Today I installed the November 10 patch, introducing Sentiments. Gloria and Victus have a very good romantic relation, but they gained no sentiment. However, Gloria and Corva got a "Closer" sentiment from Corva asking her mother for advise.
I love this penthouse, and the stairs arrangement and the many arches make the main hall look less massive. The main hall is where they eat, but also where all kinds of parties and gala events take place.
Did Butler Severine overhear a conversation that she was not meant to hear? Or did she just notice a spot on the dining table cloth?
A patch often add surprising actions, it's like personalities or reaction queues are fine tuned.
I don't think I ever saw Duchess Gloria do yoga before! I might have given her workout outfit a better color match if she did, but hey ho. It's private, and even duchesses must have the right to just grab some random clothes for a sole event like this. Why she insisted on doing her yoga exercise outdoor - in the rain, I don't quite get, though.
Afterwards, she went to the kitchen for a chat with the Butler. The kitchen is not massive, but looks fairly busy for such a grand household. Severine has her office desk back there in the corner. Those stairs lead up to the servants' bedroom section.
These days the Duke is focusing on his Military career, and Duchess Gloria, who has no regular career, except being the Patron of a couple organizations, is more involved with the household. Ah, notice the cork board - there is a card showing the current official family greeting card to the public. It's as few years old though, from their wedding. All my 4 dukedoms print such a greeting card that loyal locals put on their board or kitchen wall to show their support, or simply because they collect them. I'll tell more about this in a future post :) The green calendar is also local, with seasonal motives from San Myshuno. Other districts have their own local version. The calendar can be downloaded here.
This week they skipped the 3M (Monday Morning Meetng), a common routine in all high nobility households. Again, because the current household is limited (even old ex-duke Auphor Saxor, now renamed Auphor Sax-Donnersmalt in order to start a new House, moved out to rather become Baron of Verde), and no big event is coming up, Duchess Gloria makes sure to keep Butler Sevvy updated. It's also a good opportunity for them to get better acquainted. Today Gloria's sister, Duchess Claudine de Cavalier will stop by for some tea, quite the informal event and no need for extra planning except baking some gourmet cookies, perhaps.
The penthouse covers 2 stories, but there are only 3 rooms where guests can be treated. This is the Grand Lounge upstairs, with a bar and a grand piano.
The sisters often meet for a friendly chat. They used to be three, but the younger died years ago in Windenburg. Duchess Claudine must be extremely proud of her "National Sprout" medal, as she is wearing it at such an informal occasion. I'm not sure what they discussed, but probably they debated their servants, their children - and perhaps even their husbands - the dukes. Claudine's oldest son will graduate from University next Summer, and Claudine and Duke Aquess will eventually step back if their application is approved by the Royal Chamber. Only low nobility Peers can choose to step back, while high nobility Peers are life long.
Perhaps they even debated Claudine's son, Baron Charlopold, being dating a commoner, Luna Villareal, everything would be safe!
Well, that's all for today :) Final picture shows that the family's TV corner is way too small. Lady Corva often stands on those stairs to get a better view. That said, high nobility households might be too busy with their upper crust activities to watch silly soaps on TV, no?
