Welcome! :) On this blog you will find stories, how i play and videos created with The Sims 4, but also a few projects from older game versions can be found in the Archive. The old TS3 stories have their own blogs. Most long going stories have a main page with index of updates.

Mugger Farm attends the Fair

(Year 227) Today the second Cottage Living special edition of my Screenshot Folder video series (phew) was released. Instead of the 3 remaining videos focusing on just 3 households, I chose to dedicate each of them to the households of each of the 3 hoods. So, today you will meet the residents at Shiningham Hall (Ross), Cracrow Cottage and Crumpleton Cracrow - all at Finchwick! Embedded video link at end of this article.

Here on the blog today's focus will be on Finchwich also, but not the households. A farmer from far outside of Henford brought her daughter (8) to enter the contests at the weekly Finchwick Fair!

Janet Mugger runs the family farm, Mugger farm, at Muggerdale in Gloomville (aka the poor hood of Willow Creek). She was a teenager when her parents were no longer around, and although her only brother had plans of moving to Brindleton Bay, he stayed with Janet until she was old enough to run the farm by her own.

Today Janet (42) is married with 2 daughters, Olga (8) and Anna (3). They have a cow and 3 chickens, and grows produce according to the farm's 5 old Farm Rights. But they are very poor, and hardly make ends meet. Today their cash balance actually was §0, ha!

Janet and Olga traveled in time for the Finchwick Fair, and Olga was super excited as it was her very first fair and she was allowed to enter the Milk contest. Brownie's milk was the best ever, and had to win! They had to wait a bit, and tried to keep themselves entertained as there were hardly any locals around.

Janet did of course take advantage of the 10% fair bonus, and sold some milk and farm produce. It's a bit far to travel and she can not sell only on Saturdays. She has heard rumors that Region 12 will get similar stalls in the future, perhaps there will be a new routine for handling those Farm Rights?

But now it was time to enter the competitions!

Janet entered Brownie, and then spent some time on comforting the big animal which was already in a very good mood. Olga placed a milk bottle on the display and observed it carefully.

But nothing happened, the fair would still be ongoing for hours. Suddenly Janet observed that Olga had found herself a new friend, probably a local boy.

She walked closer, and overheard that he was Lord Magnor Ross, son of Duke of Rossie! Oh my, they should not even be talking, their social status couldn't have been more apart! She did not interrupt them, and Olga did of course not mind a new fiend. They talked for a long while.

Then the local Mayor appeared with her strict notebook!

Olga observed the fine woman studying her milk entry, taking notes and judging. How could she know that Brownie gives the best milk in the world without even tasting it?

Well, Olga's entry only won a contribution ribbon, which now hangs on the wall right above her bed. Brownie got 3rd prize and Janet won a ribbon and some fertilizer.

Now Janet hopes the fair will be a positive memory, and that Olga will keep building her skills and interest related to the farm that ran in the family for many generations, one day she might take over the Mugger Farm.

Next Cottage Living Special will feature the Watson household who moved from the 64x64 lot and is instead running the local Watson Chicken Farm :)
