Welcome! :) On this blog you will find stories, how i play and videos created with The Sims 4, but also a few projects from older game versions can be found in the Archive. The old TS3 stories have their own blogs. Most long going stories have a main page with index of updates.

Check out Simmerville's Youtube channel!

I'm no longer on Tumblr! I refused to give all their 3rd parties unlimited access to my computer. Link still works, but no updates.

Community Section - Company Index, Job Listing and Stock Holders!

(Year 228) There's loads of new information to check out in the Community Section of this blog! A big part of my game is administrating the community aspects, and I needed more tools to keep track on the businesses and their shareholders. This also included a better look on what jobs these companies offer, included a much better listing of job openings. More will be added later, but there's enough to let you check it out. And if this is not your cup of tea, you might still get a few ideas for your own game.

First of all; the Community Section can be accessed from the thumbs on top of this blog. It basically contains bio pages for each of my 400+ played sims including family trees (some spanning 225 years all the way back to Medieval!), and then there is one start page for each of the five departments as run by my Council. Most stuff is linked from the left side menu on most pages.

Major news is the Company Index. I needed a system to gather the most important info on  each company. By scrolling through some of the companies you will get the idea. If they hire (indexed) there will be information on that job, what sim has the job currently, or if it's open.

There is also info on the company's possessions (limited to lots and shares in other indexed companies), which is handy in order to understand some of their structure. Like the Landgraabs are involved with so many companies, but thankfully most of them are summed up in Landgraab Industries, Inc.

You find the current stockholders to the right, it shows how big part (percent) of the company they hold, but not how much their stocks are worth. For companies with a considerable value there are some coin symbols indicating their worth, so the more such coins, the higher value those 10% shares will represent.

The jobs leads us to another (improved) feature on the Trades & Taxes Dept.'s main page; list of all available jobs. There used to be a similar Job Listing, but it was quite messy as it also included some jobs that were already taken. Now it's easy for my sims to check if there is any job of interest. This covers only my unique jobs, and do not involve the many in game careers that are always open.

Best thing is that it will be way less tedious for me to update the new version technically, as I can simply "turn on or off" each posting. It's also easy to add more jobs, and if one thing is for sure, it is that there will be more info later :)

Lots more.

Further down on the same page, you now find a shorter list over current stockholders. Stock Ownership only includes the bigger companies that are seen as of public interest, and not private holding or investments companies.

Thing is that top 1 owner normally is Board CEO, and top 3 owners normally form the Board. Thanks to new scripting this now gets auto updated based on other data. Owners of less than 5% (indexed sims or not) are listed as "Others". So, info on just the top guys there!

Finally, you now will find info on a sim's owned stocks on the bio page! Agnes Crumplebottom is a considerable owner of Landgraab Industries, Inc. And she is turning 95 this year, perhaps someone should prepare for a huge inheritance?

The bio pages also hold tons of other individual info. I'll add more cross-pages links shortly. All can be accessed from the front page, but some times it would be nice simply going directly to the other section/site.

I'm aware this is all a bit off the regular The Sims game, but it's how I play, so deal with it ;)

  1. This is a great addition. Nice to see how the companies are connected to relevant departments. The stock ownership and detailed job listings are always interesting to read over too. "It's how I play so deal with it" LOL, I'm not complaining over here! You're showing us that anything is possible if we are more creative and adventurous.

    1. Hello! Thanks for feedback, glad you liked it! On a side note, it's also fun for me to practice some of my old scripting skills, it turns out like a game on its own trying to make these section function as intended :) I think you will like the new Stats page too, will be quite nerdy (to go online next week, I hope) :)
