(Year 228) Since long, there was an open question regarding Tulsy Cracrow (65), who resides the Cracrow Cottage at Finchwick in Henford-on-Bagley: Would she be the last Head of House of Cracrow? Tulsy has a daughter, Amy (15), who is about to start secondary school, but Amy was born outside marriage, meaning that despite being a member of the House, she can never become Head of the House. And with no siblings nor other close relatives, Tulsy had only one possibility: Getting married and having a second child!
Tulsy works as an Paranormal Investigator and she prefers her solitude dealing with magic, rather than having a normal family. So, she was surprised when she ran into Oliver Pleasant (72), telling her that she would be perfect to him no matter what she focused on.
Oliver had spent most of his life building up his business at Roadstead Hotel at Magnolia Promenade, but he never found time to marry, and he had no descendants either. He was not in the right of demanding his new girlfriend to change her life. He was a little shocked when she decided it was time to show him a friendly Specter, but he still moved in with Tulsy and Amy.
When he noticed there was some paranormal activity going on in the cottage, he plugged his ears with music and went for a walk. He had lots on his mind. He owned 35% of the hotel shares, and unless he had a child, his younger brother Daniel Pleasant, also residing here in Henford-on-Bagley, would inherit it all. If Oliver hurried up, there would be time to train a son or daughter to take over the hotel. But, he could wait no longer! If needed, he could even prepare Amy for the task?
So, Oliver proposed to Tulsy, and she said YES, and they immediately ran up to the wild Bramblewood where Tulsy wanted to tie the knot in the center of the old and magical Sophie labyrinth. It was midnight, and all spirits should be on Tulsy's side!
Sophie the Snail was the only witness, just like the old saying described. They shared a mushroom, ate it and Tulsy said a short nonsense prayer that Oliver understood nothing of. But she was convinced that Sophie did smile at her!
Few months later, tragedy struck! Tulsy had just announced that she was pregnant with Oliver's child, and they were all very happy. In fact, both Tulsy and Oliver became hysterical, too much good had happened at the same time! They both were extremely amused, the only difference was that Tulsy drank a herbal mixture that calmed her down. Oliver did not.
Before dawn their relation was considerable, and Tulsy offered Grim the key to her cottage. Grim was welcome to stop by at any time! With some luck he would be around during her upcoming Paranormal Dinner. She hosted one such dinner every year to please high society ladies' curiosity. If Grim would join them, Tulsy could definitely charge her dinner guests the double fee!
Oliver died from hysteria the very same night! He never got to train his unborn child, but at least he died with a smile on his face.
When Grim Reaper arrived to collect Oliver's soul, Tulsy could probably have pleaded for her husband's life. But she did not. Instead she was all fascinated to stand that close to Grim!
Did Tulsy realize that Grim would be a better match than old Oliver? They had met before, but their friendship was not very strong.
Tulsy invited Grim to hang out for a while. She read his cards, told Grim that his life would become sunny this year, and that he would shortly make a new fiend. Of course Grim knew that she made it all up, but perhaps he was interested, too?
But first, she had to burry Oliver, inform his brother Daniel, and perhaps there would be some heritage as well, if not for Tulsy, at least for their unborn child. A child who would become the next Head of House of Cracrow, eventually.
