Church of Similius Reacts

Earlier this year HRH King Tarriot surprised everyone by addressing equality, and in particular by pointing at the stately Church of Similius, that is known to treat their females quite poorly. This was on the agenda of the Similius Concortium taking place in Gloomville last week.

The Priests of Church of Similius gathered in both Gloomville last week. Left to right: Priest Christoph de Buttercups (Tredony parish)Priest Ezais von Porportoza (Crafthole parish), High Priest Ansgar Profedius (Windenburg parish), Priest Antonius Dipperwell (Mazaloom parish), and Priest Fartain Booch (Rossie parish).

The Similius Concortium is where the five Priests of Church of Similius gather to debate community, politics and of course the church's current position and plans. It takes place every 5th year and is hosted by the High Priest.

This year the five contenders debated King Tarriot's initiative, and naturally also Church oif Similius' position as Mazaloom kingdom's official religion. High Priest Ansgar Profedius, serving the Similius Cathedral in Windenburg, hosted the gathering attended by Priest Christoph de Buttercups from Tartosa, Priest Antonius Dipperwell from Newcrest, Priest Fartain Booch from Britechester and Priest Ezais von Porportoza from Crafthole. Today High Priest Ansgar released their reply:

"Church of Similius respects and encourage His Majesty's consern for general equality between men and women. However, the general community is not the royal institution, as little as Church of Similius is neither the royal institution nor the general community. What works fine in the organisation of Church of Similius might not work at all in the royal institution. What works fine in the royal institution might not work as well in the general community. We are separeted by traditions, routines and belief.

Church of Similius will stribe to find solutions in areas where this is possible. In other areas, such as our traditional understanding of the differencies between the man and the woman, we will not be able to negotiate.

Our belief is as strong as it is old, and Similius chose men to serve his faith. Just like the old Jacobian faith was based on a male's sights and understanding, as was the Peterian faith. Nothing can change these facts. What church would we have become if we were to adjust our fundation and deepest belief every time a Monarch addressed something not matching with the royal institution?

Church of Similius values our wives and daughters. They walk barefoot through life and without anything that is not srtrictly needed to live, and they do this every day with deep respect, prideand belief. Our tradition goes back many generations, and being the stately religion we see no way we can adjust our path by questioning these basic traditions.

Church of Similius will indeed applaud any woman who takes on the extra burdon in the name of her husband, or who walks that extra mile for her family. Outside our institution, women can of course wear shoes, but it must be said that owning several pairs is not helping their family, the community nor the environment. Nobody deserves spending more than strictly neededmm. This is our deepest belief."

And, we are pretty sure the subject is not closed by this statement.
